Arrival Story:
During the weekend before my first law school midterm, Josh and I stopped in at the Union Square Petco, where Kittykind does adoptions. We saw a pair of black/white and orange/white kittens, but left the store without them. Later that day, it kept bothering Josh, and he insisted that we go back to adopt the kittens despite all the studying we had to do. When we returned to Petco, the pair had been adopted already, but we adopted Eli and his brother Morty instead. We named Eli after Eli Manning, the quarterback for the NY Giants. Eli is the baby of the family and loves mom more.

Bio:
On his first day in the apartment, he and his brother disappeared during their first couple hours. It turns out they'd wriggled their way behind the dishwasher and we had to unscrew the bottom panel and try to coax them out. Thankfully, he and Morty are now too big to fit under the dishwasher. Eli was very scrawny and his coat was very dull when we brought him home. Maybe that's why people were reluctant to adopt him. I should be thankful, because everyone was attracted to Morty, and if Eli hadn't been so ugly, the pair wouldn't have been available when we arrived so late in the day. After regular good food and a secure home, Eli has turned out to be a very handsome boy with a sleek, shiny coat and a purr loud enough to wake me up!

Q-tip

Daddy still hasn't retrieved my mice for me, so I started playing with a Q-tip today. Mom's surprised that I'm still playing with it after a couple hours. Maybe she's surprised that Morty hasn't thrown my Q-tip under the stove with the rest of my mice.

Wow!

I can't believe I'm Catster's featured diary for the day! My Mom's so proud of me. Anyways, I was saying yesterday that I'm happy Mom's starting her summer job, but I kinda miss her. I mean, I'm stuck at home all day with Morty, and Morty just beats me up (if I don't beat him up first). At the end of the day, we were very happy to see Mom and Dad and give them lots of headbutts, purring, and loooooove (in exchange for food).

Good riddance!

Mom's starting summer work this week. Finally! I'll have peace and quiet to nap without anyone poking me and saying how cute I am. I already know I'm cute.
