Arrival Story:
During the weekend before my first law school midterm, Josh and I stopped in at the Union Square Petco, where Kittykind does adoptions. We saw a pair of black/white and orange/white kittens, but left the store without them. Later that day, it kept bothering Josh, and he insisted that we go back to adopt the kittens despite all the studying we had to do. When we returned to Petco, the pair had been adopted already, but I had seen Morty earlier when we were there that morning and he was still there. His foster mom said that Morty could only be adopted if we took his little brother (Eli) in as well. When Josh went to hold Morty, the big cat that was sharing their cage was about to attack Josh, but he got a hold of Morty and Morty has loved his daddy best ever since.

Bio:
Morty used to purr really easily and as he's grown up, he hardly purrs anymore, although he's still very friendly. I named him Mordecai as a tribute to my cousin Jessica's Pound Puppy by the same name. Despite his dislike of baths, Morty is obsessed with the bathtub. When I brush my teeth, he jumps into the tub and starts rolling around and stretching. When I shower, he sits on the edge of the tub, between the liner and curtain. No matter how many times he gets splashed, he comes back the next time.

Daddy figured out that I'm right-pawed because when I box, I jab with my left paw. He was so proud to find out that I'm a little boxer when I bop things that make scary noises... or Eli.

The other night, Mom was reading in bed. I decided to practice my mole skills by burrowing under the blankets. It was nice and warm, so I curled up. I was so relaxed that I farted and realized it was too stinky to stay under the covers. I ran out and brought some of my stink out with me, grossing out Mom. Now my entire family thinks that I'm so dumb that I gave myself a dutch oven. I don't even know what that means!

I killed a bug last night. Mom was happy to hear the news, until she heard that I started to eat it and bat it around. It didn't taste that good, but I ate it anyway.
