I got an honor, I think

Last Saturday, my mom noticed that I had a pinkish spot in my left eye. She called one of her vet bosses (yes, she works for the enemy, but she gets a nice discount on our treatment!) who came over and looked at my eye, but she couldn't see the pink spot. Mom decided to just watch it. On Monday at work she mentioned it to the other vet bosses, and the head boss said to bring me in and let her see it. After looking at my eye, she called the special vet who is an expert with eyes, and he said he better look at it, too. So, we had to ride in the car for a loooong time to go see the eye vet. It wasn't bad since mom let me out of the carrier and let me lie on the car floor at her feet (don't worry, dad was driving). The eye vet said I don't have the very bad thing, just the not-so-good thing. I have to have eye drops that aren't too great on my diabetes but will hopefully fix my eye.
The head vet lady was off today but called mom to check on me. She said she wants all the other vets to see my eye, because I'm an "interesting case study." I think that must be a good thing, if everyone wants to look at me, right?

1. Go walk around in the front yard (except mom puts on that stupid harness thing!)

4. Sleep on my favorite fuzzy blanket when it's too hot to play.

5. Wait for mom to give me leaves from the catnip plant in the backyard (it's hanging too high for me to get them myself).

My brief but excellent adventure

This morning I learned a new and valuable skill--how to get on the roof of our house! I just jumped from the ground up to the box that makes the house cool, then to another box on top of that (don't know what that one does) and it was a short hop to the roof from there. Mom didn't see me until I was already up, and boy did she freak out! She kept calling and calling me, as I happily wandered around the top of the house. She even brought out a fresh can of food. Tempting, but I resisted. I'd peek over the edge once in a while, but she couldn't reach me. Ha ha! She got on a chair and tried to get me to come to her, but I wouldn't. Finally, after not very long, I was peeking over the edge one more time and suddenly there she was just below me! I guess she got something to stand on, because she grabbed me and tried to pull me down. I resisted, since I was afraid of falling over the edge, but mom won and I had to get down.
We'll see what they try to keep this from happening again, eh?

1. I used to live outside in a trailer park until mom got me fixed and took me in.

2. I've gone from roaming the neighborhood at my old house to being only allowed out into the fenced backyard (which has "cat fencing" also) and I'm hating it. I want out into the front yard!!

3. I'm a very friendly boy, and used to walk into other people's apartments if they left the door open.

4. I have anxiety issues and sometimes spray on mom's bedspread.

5. I'm the only one of mom's four cats to have caught a bird since moving to our new house.

6. I think our bird feeder is the absolute coolest thing ever. I tried to get a bird through the window and (mom thinks) pushed the window screen out far enought to get outside.

7. I love tuna and chicken and will go to great lengths to get it.

Good news and bad..

The good news was the awesome BOCU party on Saturday night! BOCU parties are always the best--great food and drinks, great music and dancing, wonderful friends. It was also my first date ever, with the lovely and classy orange girl Sophie. I had a great time!
The bad news....we are MOVING. Mom thinks we don't know, but she's wrong. I've seen her start to put a few things in boxes, and I hear her talking about it. I heard something about it taking TWO DAYS in the car to get there! I can't stand to even think about that, or I'll freak out! She's been wondering why I'm so restless and crying and wanting out in the evening. Well, duh. I don't want to go somewhere else.
Maybe we can foil this plan somehow..

I gotta write in here more now...

...since I got Diary of the Day not too long ago. Who knew I had it in me? What I really want now is Cat of the Day, or better yet, Cat of the Week! I mean, why not? What's not to like about me?? Handsome, charming, funny, etc. etc.
Uh-oh, getting kicked off now because mom has to go watch CSI and wants me to come along. Until later....

Wow, I'm bad!

It's been over a year since I wrote in here! I must take after mom, since she can't ever manage to keep a journal. Dad found mom's old diary from when she was 14 and 15 (that's human years), and she didn't really write much. Stuff like "school was boring" and "church was boring." Guess she was bored a lot. She should have gone out and hunted mousies and snakes--that helps me if I'm bored.
Anyway, another winter is coming--ugh!! We all hate it. It's dark and cold and we aren't allowed outside much. No matter how much Pixie and I cry, mom refuses to let us out after dark. It's so frustrating!! All our tactics continue to fail. Maybe it's time for a new plan...

I AM the mighty hunter!!

Mom and dad have now lost count of how many mousies I have hunted down (not to mention two snakes and a bird, and many bugs!) I am a vicious killer of poor hapless innocent mousies--muahahaha!!! Mom is not too crazy about it, and she made me take a nasty pill so I don't get "tapeworms." I injured a mousie the other day (just got tired of playing with it and left it) and dad killed it, which made mom sad (she is SUCH a sap!!!)

Hey to my Catster friends!

Hope you all had a great weekend!! Mom and Dad were off work all weekend, so we got to play, play, play! We can't go outside when they aren't home, so we love it when they are here and the sun is out. I couldn't find any snakes in the field, and no mousies either, but there are always birds to watch.

More snake!

I went back out and got the snake, and brought him back in. Clearly mommy and ad don't like their gift, because dad put it back in the field again. Oh well!
