Arrival Story:
I adopted Baxter from the Perry County Humane Society in November of 2004. He was found all alone at the edge of a field, and a young boy picked him up and brought him to the Humane Society. Thus, very little is known about his background. The only thing they can come up with is that the people who had him waited until he was weaned, then turned him loose.

Bio:
He came to me with a nasty case of fleas, which we didn't know about until they hatched a couple of months later. He's very good about going in the cat carrier. He stands around and watches while I cook or wash dishes, apparently to make sure I'm doing it right.

Working bums me out...

Mom recently started working again, and I must tell you that I'm not really pleased. I mean, one day she's there at my beck and call, with all the petting and cuddling I can stand, and then the next she's gone all day. And the next day, and the next. LAME!

She tried to explain to me that it's all for the good, that she will be able to keep me in luxury kibble and even get me a cat tree! And you know, that's all well and good, but I miss her.

I'm hearing rumblings though, of getting me a "buddy." Darned if I know what that means, but whatever it is, it had better not hog one bite of my Fancy Feast or there's gonna be fireworks!

Work...blah. Work, schmerk, I say. Not that you asked. I like to share though, I'm generous that way.

You're welcome.

Bedmaking is for Chumps...

Spring is definitely in the air now, and believe you me, I am one HAPPY cat! Mom bought this new set of sheets that she's pretty darn excited about. I could hear her telling Dad, "Feel how SMOOTH they are. They're sateen!" Not satin, but SAT-EEN. Yeah, that's what I was thinking too. It's like that old episode of the Brady Bunch where the Bradys took acting lessons from a woman who insisted on calling herself "MEEER-NA."

But I digress.

So this afternoon Mom officially retired our winter sheets (Flannel! Uber-cozy!) and put these new sheets on. Being the cat I am, investigation was my moral imperative. And you know, they really did look smooth. So smooth, in fact, that I decided to make the bed my own personal skating rink. Mom finally had to shut me out of the room so she could finish making the bed.

I can't wait until bedtime. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!

I drove Mom and Dad nuts last night. I was doing what I like to call Baxter's Olympic Obstacle Course. Basically, its jumping from the floor to the bedside table to the dresser to the trunk on the floor and back around again. Good fun and good exercise!

Anyhoo, I decided to mix it up a little last night. Instead of going on my usual circular path, I went from the bedside table to the dresser BACK to the bedside table. Problem is, I overshot my leap and landed squarely on a pile of Mom's magazines, and everything went flying, including me! I wasn't hurt, well, maybe a little bruised pride, but boy, did I make a mess. And Mom and Dad nearly went through the ceiling!

Good times, Good times.
