Gray and White
I'm a Mama's boy, so my favorite thing to do is follow Mom around. I'm happiest when I'm sleeping in the sunshine on the bed next to my mom. I love to be hugged and picked up. I love to rub my face against my mom's face. Oh, and I also love to eat!
When my food bowl isn't full, when my Poppy makes me move off of his pillow so he can go to sleep, getting my butt pinched, getting water sprayed in my face for chewing on houseplants or trying to sniff Poppy's dinner plate, and the vacuum (it scares me)
My catnip-stuffed little green monster, shoestrings when they are being tied, and my little sister Setha Belle (we like to chase each other and wrestle after we finish grooming each other!)
Favorite Nap Spot:
As close to Mom as I can get, on top of anything Mom is trying to read, on Poppy's pillow.
All moist cat food except beef flavored (beef makes me throw up), toast crumbs left on any unattended plate, juice from canned tuna, and the liquid left on the plate when Mom defrosts chicken in the microwave.
I give good massages by kneading my mom's shoulders or neck. I also serve as a hotpad by sleeping on her back and purring. I'm good at getting my mom's attention by knocking things off her dresser to let her know my food bowl is empty.
My feline mom gave birth to me in her neighbor's barn in Illinois. She became very ill when I was about three weeks old. That was when she carried two of my littermates over to the house next door and waited for the lady who lived there, her guardian, to find them. Three days later she brought me and two more of my littermates over to that house too. After that, my feline mom quit nursing us and just supervised our care. The lady's daughter gave my feline mom medicine and took good care of all of us kittens. Despite the fact that there was more than enough cats hanging around already, she fell in love with my pretty blue eyes and sweet disposition! She became my human mom! Sadly, all of my littermates became ill and died shortly thereafter. I too became ill and stayed sickly until I was about 8 months old. My new mom took me to the vet many times, but he could never figure out what exactly was wrong with me. Mom had to give me lots of medicine and bathe me when I was very little. When she moved to South Carolina when I was 8 months old she wouldn't leave me behind despite the fact that her then husband-to-be wasn't much of a cat person. For some unexplained reason, I haven't gotten sick since we moved and I became an indoor cat. I adjusted very well to our new home and I was able to win over my Poppy in no time. He likes to play video games, so I would be his "wingman" and sit by his side while he played. Two months after moving, Mom and Poppy adopted a little sister from the Humane Society to keep me company. Between me and Setha, we turned Poppy into a cat person after all! Now we are one big happy family!
I celebrate my birthday on August 1st.

Ok. Here's the deal: Mom has been nagging me to say a few words to ya'll for days now. Setha has made several diary entries already and I haven't made any. That makes sense though, since she's a real chatterbox and I'm a man of few words. I save my meows for important things, like asking for food or attention (sometimes actually CLIMBING up Mom's leg just isn't enough so a loud meow has to be added to make my point!). Mom pointed out though that once upon a time I was pretty talkative too. She even told some story about how I use to walk the perimeter of every room of the house actually HOWLING before going to bed at night. I don't remember that. I do, however, remember when I use to greet her at the door meowing nonstop when she came home from work telling her all about how I spent my day while we were apart. *sigh* Yeah, we use to have some great conversations. But really, that was when I was young and silly. I'm too cool for those antics now! Back then I did all kinds of silly stuff like *gasp* SING IN THE SHOWER! Whew! You have no idea how grateful I am Mom never caught that on video! How embarrassing! Setha and I both use to play in the tub after Mom or Pop got out of the shower. Setha use to like to stand in the tub at the sloping back end and put her front paws up on the top rim and let them slide down the slippery, wet surface. It was kinda like a water slide for only her front half! How silly! I wasn't that crazy. I only liked to sing to myself. Have you ever tried it? The acoustics are great! Just don't tell anyone I told you so...like I said, I'm too cool for that silly kitten stuff now!
*yawn* Well, that's more than I've said in a long time. Mom should be satisfied with that. Now I'm gonna get back to my napping! Catcha later!
