Arrival Story:
Hi Everyone, my name is Miss Casey but my new Mom and Dad call me Casey. I use to live outside in the area where my Dad's mother lives. I guess I have been outside since I have been born. I don't remember to much of those days now. Anyway, one day in August of 2004, I was hanging around the Grandmother's house and saw this man and woman outside working. I guess I just needed to be loved a little by a human or maybe I wanted to see what it felt like. I approched them, a bit shy, but when the lady saw me she bent down and urged me to come closer. I did, but slowly. She patted me on the head and that was all I needed. I LIKED IT! They had a truck in the driveway and the tailgate was opened so I jumped up on it. The lady kept talking to me and petting me and boy I sure liked it! Then the man came over and he petted me and that felt good to. After a while the Grandmother came outside and told the other people that I had been hanging around most of the summer. She went inside and next thing, you know, she came out with something on a plate that smelled good. She handed it to the lady that was petting me and she gave it to me. Oh boy, oh boy it was ham and it tasted so good! I hadn't eaten to much lately and I was hungry. Well........you know once they fed me I was putty in their hands! A while later all the humans went in the house and closed the door. Gosh I felt so bad!!!! So I decided to just hang around and see if they would come out again and pet me. A long time later they did come out but.......they started to get into that truck that was there. I started to panic, I thought I would never see these people again so I meowed and the lady came over and patted me on the head...my heart sunk..."GOODBYE" she said! Just then the man said, "What are you going to do about kitty?" The lady said, "Leave it here!" Oh boy, then my heart really sunk. Then the man said, "Put it in the truck & and we will figure out what to do with her later. We can't leave her here!" The lady gently picked me up and placed me in this big truck and tucked me in beside her. She talked to me and petted me all the way to their house. I wasn't scared for some reason. I was good and just laid next to her listening to her talk to me and feeling good about the petting. The trip to their house did not take all that long and when we got there the lady put me into what she called a kennel in their living room. It was big and roomy. It had what she called a litter box in it and oh my, a soft clean pillow with a blanket on it. Oh that felt so good to lay on. And then........she brought me a clean dish of water and another dish of food. She told me it was all mine and I did not have to share it with anyone else. WOW!!! Then I started meeting the rest of the family. There were three dogs. A Chow, a mixed breed and a Chihuahua! They all came to smell me in the kennel and I got a bit upset. But after a while when I realized they would not hurt me I settled down. Then came two cats that I liked right off. One was named Buddy and the other JayJay. Really I liked these two boys and they seems to like me. The lady, whom by now, was saying she was my mom, would take me out of the kennel everyday for an hour or so and let me get use to the house and the other members of the family. Finally one day the kennel disappeared! I was on my own through out the house. Now came the awful part of my story. I heard mom and dad say something about me having to go to see a doctor/vet. Heck I am okay why do they want me to go see something like that? Well we went to the doctor and mom found out that I was expecting babies. Vet suggested that they be taken away as I so young and physically in poor condition to have kittens. Mom agreed and a date was made for it to happen. Gosh I was put in the big kennel again over night and all food and water was taken away from me. I had heard a word about being spayed. Whatever that was, I was begining to think I would not like it. Mainly because when mom took me to the Dr. the first time he gave me shots. OWE they hurt! I did not like this at all. Well the day came and I was taken to the dr. Mom kept telling me when I come home I would be feeling better and all would be well and that I WOULD be coming back to her. They put me to sleep at the dr. and I don't remember anything till mom came and picked me up. She brought me home and I was put in that kennel again. I really didn't care as I had food and water in there and that wonderful soft bed...I slept and slept and slept some more. The next day though, mom let me out for good. Phew am I glad of that! I have been with these folks now for almost a year. I was skinny and undernourshed when I arrived and now I am fat and lazy and happy with them.......So that is how things are with me up to now!

Bio:
Mom felt that I needed to add a few more things here about myself. First of all mom and dad found me in the same area that Buddy and JayJay were found. Mom and dad feel that somehow we might be related because we all seem to have a very gentle loving personality. Also I have a red tiger tip marking on my tail that resembles my brother Buddy. We may not have had the same mom kitty or maybe it was a different dad kitty but they do feel we might be related somehow. Buddy and JayJay and I hit it off right away. We played with each other right from the begining... Buddy and I are dear friends. We sleep together a lot during the day. We share our food and don't get upset if one pushes the other out of the way. JayJay and I play together a lot and we play hard rough, tumble, and chasing. JayJay and I will sleep together now and then but not as much as Buddy and I do. Buddy and I are found to hug each other, at times, while sleeping. Mom says that she is in hopes to get a picture of that someday. Now, also, I got to tell you, I love the man of this house, my dad! I will go to him, sit up on my hind legs, like a bunny, and brush his leg or hip. He always reaches down and pets me and talk sweet talk to me. Dad loves to tease me and rub my belly. He keeps asking me, "Where did you get that tummy? It wasn't there when we brought you home!" I get up with dad at 3:30 a.m. when he goes off to work. I have to make sure he is greeted properly for the day. He tells me he looks forward to me getting up with him...so for now I am going to keep doing it!

Six things I don't like

July 9th 2008 6:59 am   [link to this entry]

1- My food dish empty. When daddy gets up in the morning I tell him in no certain cat words I want that dish filled.

2- I don't like my nails clipped. But shucky-darn mom still does it no matter how much I fuss.

3- I don't like it when company comes and sits in my favorite chair. I sit and stare at them hoping they will get the message that I want my chair.

4- There are times when I want to go outside and roll in the dirt but mom won't let me outside except on the enclosed patio...I don't like this!

5- I don't like the vacume cleaner running. I don't like the noise and I run and hide when mom uses it.

6- I don't like it when one of my sibblings want to lay in the top most part of our kitty condo...I love it up and there and don't want to share it with them.

Good morning to all you folks here on Caster,

Well it has been a cold winter and we all are trying to find the
best place to lay and keep warm. I have discovered mom's new
coverlet on her bed. OMG is it soooo nice. My brother, Buddy, lays
there every afternoon on mom's side of the bed. I am now getting
into the habit of joining him. I tuck my head into his tummy
and snuggle right down close to him. We sleep and sleep and sleep
all afternoon there. Mom gets a kick out of us sleeping there.

I have also started sleeping in mom and dad's bed, at night. I
have not done this at all till that new coverlet has arrived. These
cold nights also make me want to be with my 3 brothers when they
are sleeping with mom and dad. It is fun because we all tuck in
around mom to keep warm and to keep her warm as well.

I have to get up early with my dad...he goes out real early to work
and I have to check out his clothes for him. Especially his pants.
I have to pounce on the legs to make sure there is nothing there
to hurt dad. He laughs at me. Then he goes in the kitchen to make
sure that our food dish is full. If it isn't I let him know about it.

Mom has been brushing all of us. We are shedding a lot now. She
says it is a sign that warm weather is coming. I don't know about
that all I know is it feels good.

Guess that is all for now. You all have a grand, love filled day...

Hi all...HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Wow I didn't realize just how long it has been since I have had mom
write in my diary. Gosh I guess I am going to have to get up off
my lazy bottom and get some more writing done.

We have a new addition to our family. He came about a year ago. His
name is Bumper. I just love him. I love to wash his face and he
lets me do it...in fact I think he would rather do it than himself.
Hmmmmmm does that mean he is lazy. No I don't think so because
he always pounces on me when I am sleeping in front of the pellet
stove. Or when I roll on my back to show off my tummy to mom
and dad. Then he pounces on me and rolls me over and bites my neck
and wants me to play.

Ho hum I really don't want to play with him because I love laying
in my bed in front of the warm stove.

Mom and Dad say I am getting fat...hmmm I guess I have put on a
little more weight this winter but when the summer comes I will be
able to go out on the patio and maybe, if I can't find a warm,
sunshiny spot, I will run around a bit. I really can't wait for
the warmer weather because I love the patio so much.

Don't tell anyone this, but I have, on several occasions, tried to
run out the back door. It is not that I want to run away it is
just that I love to roll in the dirt or on the sidewalk...and sniff
at all the good smells that are outside. But alas, mom or dad
can always tell when I am about to bolt and they catch me and make
me stay in the house... But one of these days...you wait and see
I am a-gonna'-get out for a bit!

I think I am going to say good bye for now...I want to go lay
in front of that warm stove.
