Arrival Story:
Our boy Charles Dorney died and we were heartsick without a cat in the house. I went to every shelter in the area, waiting for that special moment but it never came. Then I heard about a foster home for "Forgotten Felines" and went to the house where all the male cats lived. I walked in, sat on a chair and immediately a cat was in my lap. The guy said "Do you want to look around?" I answered "I've been chosen." He responded, "I wish they all were like you." His name was Tippy but we thought he needed a better name. We decided he would be Maxwell Thomas. Max was young. His family was moving and the dad didn't want to take him with them. Lucky for us!

Bio:
Max was sweet and loving from the moment he entered our home. He had a great sense of humor and we loved him dearly. If we went out to eat all we could think about was getting back home to him! At age 5-1/2 Max had a heart attack. He lived another month. I fed him warm Gerber's baby food peas from a spoon. We did everything we could for him. He knew Hazel Lucy for 2 months before he crossed the bridge. He was my soul mate.

I'm excited to be here!
You won't hear too much from me because I'm shy in crowds.
Besides, HAZEL LUCY and MAZIE have plenty to say!
Thank you for your lovely notes and kind messages, and for the Stars, Rosettes and Special Gifts! Much appreciated.

I left for Heaven about 2 months after mom brought Hazel Lucy into the house. I always had a heart murmur but in those days there was nothing to do but keep watch. Then one day I tried to jump onto the bed and fell back, I tried again and fell back. My breathing got very rapid and I didn't look so good. It was Christmas eve at 2am and mom and dad rushed me to the ER clinic.

They said I blew out a valve. I was given Lasix and something else but that didn't help. Mom fed me Gerber's baby food, creamed peas out of a teaspoon. I wasn't getting any better but my dad was in total denial because he was so upset. Finally he realized I was not going to get better. They gave me the last gift of release and I flew to heaven even as dad was driving to the vet. I left my body while it was still breathing. Dad said that was something. They cried and cried and said the house felt empty and lonely.

Hazel Lucy was there but she was skittish and not interacting much. She was just there. My folks were bereft. It was a very, very sad time. Mom said I was her best friend. I couldn't have asked for a more loving home.

So that's my story. I was a lucky cat. We all played and laughed together, I had a good sense of humor and a playful way. Those three years of memories have lasted a lifetime. So don't be sad, I knew I was loved. And Heaven is real.

happy Maxwell Thomas

Mom wanted to give me my own page.
I was her first love. I lived with mom before Hazel Lucy!
We had the sock throwing game and that was fun.
I drank out of mom's water glass, boy was that fun!
I liked grapes and cooked peas.
I was a good boy and had purrfect manners.
When my heart gave out it was very sad in the house.
Very sad indeed. Now Mom remembers me with love and joy.
