Brushing and Party Mix
Taking her pills and getting her subcutaneous fluids
Doesn't care for toys--could be her blindness
Favorite Nap Spot:
On a fleece throw next to a radiator in the bedroom.
Varies because of her CKD. Right now, Purina NF mixed with smushed up tuna.
Despite being blind, she can manuver around her immediate area without bumping into stuff.
My DH and I had 7 cats, but we also love dogs. We lost our German Shepherd back in 2009, and last year we decided it was time to get a new canine family member. Just as we were looking around for a GSD, fate stepped in. I saw a picture of Peaches on a local shelter's FB page. I knew the minute that I saw her that she needed us. She was 12 years old and had chronic kidney disease (CKD). She also had sores on her little body. Her people had dumped her because they did not want to spend more than $100 on her vet care. Peaches needed us much more than a big old German Shepherd. And the rest, as they say, is history.
When we brought Peaches home, and got her the proper vet care, she started doing much better. She did have a skin cancer, which required a very risky operation for her, but she made it through like a trooper. She was evening putting on weight--a miracle for a CKD kitty. We also found out that Peaches is almost blind from cataracts.
