Sun Sign:
Gotcha Date:
February 12th 2014

Birthday:
August 1st 2010

Coloration:
Gray and White

Likes:
What she likes best of all is little brother Tony, closely followed by treats from the treat jar and being very close to mommy and daddy.

Pet-Peeves:
Her main pet peeve is that she can't eat 24/7. Since she is a chubby girl she is being helped to gently cut back and she doesn't like that very much.

Favorite Toy:
She prefers "found" things to actual toys. She likes pieces of paper or bottle caps.

Favorite Nap Spot:
She has a gray pillow-cat bed and looks regal lying on it, she also sleeps on the, back of the couch. She sleeps at night, all night, with parents.

Favorite Food:
Any cat food so far and temptations treats are a big hit. She likes dry food better than wet but turns down nothing! She doesn't come after people-food (thankfully).

Skills:
She comes when called, even if she is sleeping upstairs. She is good at grooming her little brother until he is squeaky clean. She is a cuddly loving girl.

Dwells:
indoors

Arrival Story:
Beatrice had been in a shelter in Montana and then came to Spokanimals in Spokane. She had been in shelters for a long time. When I saw her there at Pet Smart I fell in love with her, but I had to go back 3 times before I saw she was getting sad being left behind. The next day we drove the 90 miles to go get her and bring her home. Welcome home Beatrice. (And we love her and she is staying forever!)

Bio:
When she first came to live here, 5th of 5 cats in the house, she did not seem shy at all but just went her own way and did her own thing. The other cats warmed up to her and her little brother Tony, who was initially hissy and rude, has become her friend, which makes sense since they are the young ones. All the kitties have welcomed her into the family and she and Tony are inseparable.

Lives Remaining:
9 of 9

Forums Motto:
Beatrice is home to stay

ITS MY GOTCHA DAY

One year ago I came to live here at my forever home with my family. It has been a wonderful year and I am very happy here. Since late November I have been on a diet to lose some weight, and I have been working very hard to get healthy and lose weight with the Metabolic Diet Food. I have done very well and my pawrents are proud of me! I have started getting thinner, and even though I have a way to go, its ok, because I feel good and I am more active now. By my gotcha day next year I will be svelt and the beautiful lynx-like movie star I was meant to be. After all a Diva must be lovely!!!

Some of you know I have some aggression problems when I wasnt getting my way. Auntie Maria told my mom about an Animal Communicator she used before and mommy and I had an appointment with her. She really helped us a lot . We are working together on helping me communicate without clawing, and helping me tolerate not always getting my way. Then yesterday a miracle occurred. I am the cat who nearly ate the vet who tried to trim my nails - I was a viscous girl! Well yesterday mom put Rescue Remedy in my food, on her hands, on the towel, on the scissors, on my paws...and then mom and dad just made a burrito out of me with the towel and mom easily clipped all my front claws in a few seconds! I didn't even move or complain. We immediately emailed Kate to tell her, and then I wrote a diary entry so all my Catster friends could see what a good girl I have become. And I wanted to say a big THANK YOU AUNTIE MARIA for turning us on to Kate, the communicator.

She told mommy that I had been returned over and over to the shelters and nobody kept me because of me being so bossy and striking out, and Mom said that will never happen again because I am in my real forever family now, and mom will love me all the time no matter what, and she will help me behave more the way I would like to do. And I am getting so much better!!! And I am home to stay.

Meeting The Family Vet

I had my first vet appointment with the family vet. She was really sweet and pretty, but when she trimmed my back claws she pulled my fur so I almost removed her fingers! Mommy warned her that my temper is a force to be reckoned with. The pretty vet lady said I am healthy, except I am way too fat and I have acne on my chin. So I'm a chubby teenager. She wants me to lose 3 pounds! She also told mom and dad that I am a "dominant" cat. Ya think? Like they needed to be told, right? But she said I am a sweet kitty too, and, after all, I didn't really bite off any fingers. Purrrrrr.
