Favorite Nap Spot: In the window in a patch of sun, or anywhere there is a human who I love making a lap!
Skills: ** Plays for Kels' Cool Kats mouse hockey team **
Arrival Story: The first family to adopt me when I was tiny couldn’t keep me, so when I was 3 months old I went to live with Big Sis Becky’s boyfriend and his parents, who named me “Evie” because I had been “evicted”.
Becky was living there at the time, and we bonded so strongly that when Becky moved away to go to Chef School I got very sad and kept looking for her. Becky missed me just as much, so I ended up getting to go with her. We moved around a bit, but where we lived didn’t matter to me because we were together. When Becky would come home from a long tough day, I was there to meet her with my little stuffed gray elephant carefully laid out on the floor and lots of happy purrs.
After Becky graduated we moved in with Mom, Dad, Mallow & Mike. After a couple of years we moved out on our own again, but I’m older now and it was hard for me to adjust to spending so much time alone again. Becky decided that it’s best for me to be here where I can have lots of company during the day and not get lonely.
I have traveled on a plane to Calgary and in a car to come back to Aldergrove. I like meeting new people and can get along well with most other cats.

This time DAD did it and we all know it! And you would not believe what he did. (whisper) He put his pants through the wash last night with his phone in the pocket. And he didn't know till he went looking for it today and found it still there.
Things do not look good for the phone, but Big Bro Joe has done that same thing a time or two (or three or four) and he says that taking the battery & SIM card out and putting everything in a bucket of rice is about the only thing that might help. So there sits a bucket of rice in the sunny window, with a phone buried in it.
Okay, here's my side of the story. Dad chose to make a phone call while I was in his office, laying as is my custom upon the desk. He phoned some business or another and was put on hold for 25 minutes because (as we all know) "your call is important to us".
So finally he got a human on the other end, he was just starting to explain his reason for calling, when I got a little uncomfortable and took a big LOOONNNG stretch and .... hit something that cut off the phone call.
I wish to lodge a complaint that it is very poor design to have any important buttons anywhere that the cat can roll on them. These designers were just NOT thinking of the cat-centred office!
Um ... Dad showed remarkable patience and restraint by the way. Especially when he called back, waited again, got through, had just explained to the lady that ".. my cat cut us off".
And I did it again.
At this point some Dads would let loose with language no respectable kitty should ever be hearing or even (horrors!) resort to violent retaliation against said rolling kitty (being ME). But my Dad is a pretty good egg overall.
I think he MAY start thinking about closing the office door sometimes, though.
Dad runs an accounting & tax business at home, and it's pretty busy right now. Last night some people came to the door and mentioned they'd just tried to phone and instead of the usual greeting, our answering machine made some crazy beeping noises at them. So Mom went to investigate.
She played the outgoing message and sure enough, strange beeping sounds and background noise. Suddenly it became clear why we've gotten a few messages the last couple of days with people just saying "hello? hello?" Why, someone accidentally erased the outgoing message! Since I love to lay on the desk and roll on the equipment they are blaming ME!
Not fair, I say! I think Dad accidentally deleted it while he was deleting messages. Dad and technology (even outdated technology) do not always get along, mol. Innocent, I am innocent I say!
