Arrival Story:
Cecil was a Christmas gift from my husband. I fell in love with the breed at a cat show but it took 2 years to take the plunge and get a second cat (we were worried how our cranky-bachelor cat would react). It was hard to find a kitty - every time we found one, the breeder would end up selling it to someone else. My husband bought Cecil sight unseen from an unscrupulous breeder in Kansas who lied about Cecil's birthdate. She told my husband the kitten was 8 weeks old (still too young to be sold but my husband wanted to give him to me on Christmas) and when I took the kitten to the vet the day after Christmas, was told that Ceece was at the most 5 weeks old. He was also starving - barely weighed 4 oz and had one of the worst parasitic infections our vet had ever seen. His whiskers had been chewed off on one side - apparently by more aggressive litter mates. But he has an amazing spirit and is filled with energy and mischief even when he was sick and starving. We hand fed him, took the vet to be weighed every other day for weeks and he is now a beautiful, healthy boy (who would like for me to mention, by the way, that he does not actually weigh 10 lbs, only 9.6 - he's a little self-conscious about his apron and the vet has suggested he might be a 1/2 lb over his ideal weight). Cecil is my first cat, the light of my life, and I cannot recall what life was like pre-Cecil.

Cecil is a very sexy cat and frequently shows off his great physique by striking sensual and revealing poses. He has amazing paw dexterity, likes to hold hands, and has the world's loudest purr. He isn't very talkative unless there's a chance of getting fed. Although he is supposed to be a strictly indoor cat, he makes daring escapes from time to time, usually disappearing under the deck for a bit or rolling around in the dirt and perhaps partaking in the ultimate joyful experience - pooping in the flower bed. Cecil fell 15 feet from a balcony overlooking our family room when he was a tiny kitten but there seems to be no permanent brain damage - he is pretty darn smart for an animal with a brain the size of a walnut.
