Arrival Story:
Rufus Henry Sparks was considered a "bad cat" by many other people. He was (is) one of those cats that's genetically hyperactive - sure, big personalities are part of being an orange tabby, and that's why I love them, but his hyperactivity was above and beyond that (still is). He attacked every other cat in sight, and didn't understand the social cues given off by other kitties that say BACK OFF MAN. He played like a little murderer, and he did so relentlessly. He also bit all the humans - not because he was "mean" per se, but because he was constantly suffering from hyperarousal. He was like a racquetball with claws and teeth. His own little furry particle accelerator of destruction. After months of working with him, he was only a little better no matter how many excuses I made for him, so he was deemed unadoptable for behavioural issues. Fortunately, we were already in love with him, so we kept him. I had been deluding myself for three months, thinking that I could give him up if someone wanted him - I just didn't want to be a failed foster after having success with my previous two behavioural fosters. But fate decided for us, and we couldn't be happier!
