Arrival Story:
One Sunday in early December I was on my way to my friend's art opening when I decided to go to Cat Adoption Day at the shelter instead. I decided I wanted a black cat because I love them and also the staff told me they have a harder time being adopted than other cats. This kitty had a sign over her cage saying "I have been overlooked." It made me cry to think of this little black cat being overlooked by potential families. The staff person told me, "that cat was enthusiastic at first but lately she has just given up." Immediately I decided I wanted Olivia. She came to live with me a week later after being spayed. it was a struggle for her at first to get along with my other cat, Beebo, but after several months I would come home to find them lying peacefully together on my bed.

Olivia was found on the streets of Boston. I think she was separated from her mother too soon because she still struggles with anxiety and self soothes by sucking on her tail like she is nursing.
