Arrival Story:
I was adopted from a local shelter through Petsmart's pet adoption program. I took to my family immediately, playfully pawing through the bars of the cage with the kids. After two visits with me, they finally brought me home. My shelter name was "Tamara", but Tillie fits me so much better!

My background is unknown to my family. According to my health records I was surrendered when I was 1-1/2, but the reasoning is unknown. I think the best way to describe myself is that I am very sweet. I am quiet, except for my insistent meowing when I want to be fed, and I am very mellow. I am content sitting in the perch of the window and watching the world slowly go by outside. I will sleep anywhere, a bed, a chair, the floor, my cat tower, sometimes on my family's chests. I spend most of the day relaxing, but in the evenings I unleash my fun, playful side. I love chasing the laser, hunting for flies, and rolling around on the floor with any object I deem worthy of my play. I want to climb, and can't seem to ever get high enough. I am gentle with the young children in our house. I am very possessive over the man of the house. I love my new family and look forward to our life together!

(Almost) Runaway Tillie!

Last night I went outside to take the garbage out, and when I opened the door to come back inside, Tillie jolted out the door. I calmly bent down to pick her up and she always stayed two steps in front of me. I was being careful not to chase her away. I quickly went inside and grabbed a bag of her favorite treats, but she was much more interested in checking out the bushes outside. It was dark, and I was started to get panicked that I wouldn't be able to get her back. She ran to our backyard, and I couldn't see her at all. I had my husband turn on the porch light and join on the hunt. He followed her around the neighbors house, and finally was allowed close enough that he grabbed her, kicking and screaming (and she even bit him!) It was like a wild side of her was unleashed when she was outside, and I didn't recognize her! I am so glad we have her back, but a little unnerved to think she might be turning into an escape artist that seems to prefer life outside away from us! :( Anyone else have a cat like this?
