Arrival Story:
My boyfriend moved in with me last year and brought his older Russian Blue with him. I had never had pets before but I fell in love with this cat immediately. Alex (my boyfriend) has had his cat since he was born, and I decided I wanted to experience raising a kitten too, and also thought that the older cat might like a companion. We just went on Craigslist and found an ad for a shelter a couple hours away (we live in a tiny beach town). We contacted them, went out for a visit, met Blair, his mom and his 4 siblings, and 2 weeks later when they were all weened off their mom's milk, we came back and took him home :) the rest of the litter was all adopted out that same week too.

One of the other kittens in the litter looked exactly like Blair, only she was female. Initially, we were actually planning to adopt the female - it was just arbitrary, and I thought it might just be cool to have a female cat since Rayman (the Russian Blue) is male (not that it really makes a difference once they're fixed though). But when we came back to pick up Blair, the woman running the shelter ended up giving us the male twin by mistake, which we didn't find out until the first time we took him to the vet. So for the first few weeks we had him "he" was a "she", lol. It was a little strange at first, because we were wondering if we should change his name to Chuck (he's named after the character Blair in "Gossip Girl" - if you're familiar with that you'll understand the Chuck thing), but Blair seemed androgynous enough for a male, plus we were already used to it, haha.

my mommy and daddy sneaked me into a hotel room last night! it was weird, it was a suite on the beach and i ran around and played under the bed and chewed stuff, and then they cuddled with me all night. i was glad to be back home the next day where i could play outside, and i even killed a birdie first thing when i got home :) what a weird, fun night! oh and they also gave me special fish-flavored food
