Sorry I didn't post this week. My new mom has been really sick. Even though she's been home from work for the past two weeks, she hasn't been able to play with us much because she's had vertigo.
She had people coming in to feed us and scoop our litter box. I tried to tell her I was starving a few times, but then she saw the empty cat food can in the trash and I was embarrassed. It was worth a try, anyway.
Now that she's starting to feel better, she's playing games with us. She throws my toy mousie up in the air and catches it and I've been swiping it away from her with my paw. Great fun!

My poor Mom has been under the weather with vertigo for the past two weeks. She fell yesterday while getting ready for work, so her doctor is making her rest for the week and visit a bunch of specialists. This means more time for her to pet me, so I'm okay with it but it's a good thing she has friends and family to help feed us and clean out our litter box. I overheard her saying that she will never take these tasks for granted again once she gets better, but she has always seemed to enjoy them before.
Anyway, since she can't lean over to pet us, we hang out in the cat condo at her level. She also found us a new fun thing -- throwing toys down the stairs! I love to watch them bounce. Sometimes I wait at the bottom of the stairs hiding and when the bouncy-thing comes flying down I attack it. Great fun!
I was not happy that Phoenix shared such an embarrassing story about me last week -- I chased her for it.

I have a new nickname: Rotisserie Cat. My mom was so surprised on Saturday when she was petting me (I was laying on the kitty condo at her level) and I slowly rolled so that she could pet me on all sides, even my tummy!
I didn't know cats weren't supposed to hate having their tummies rubbed. I rolled and rolled until she walked away with an amazed look on her face. Have I broken some Cat Law?
