Arrival Story: Speak was adopted from Harmony House in Chicago, IL. He was on the second floor of the shelter where the older and "chill" cats were. After about an hour or two of meeting kitties, I met this shy fellow. The shelter employees called him their "boyfriend" since he was so affectionate. They also told us that he arrived with a brother who had been adopted the week before. We played with a string for a bit and when I reached out to pet him, he backed away and swatted at me. Something about those big green eyes melted my heart and I knew he was the guy for me. He stayed hidden from us for the first two weeks of living in his new home. Then one day, he came out of hiding and played for hours and hours--wearing us out. As he warmed up, he revealed that he wasn't as "chill" as everyone had thought. He was a talker! So I named him "Speak" because that's what he can do. He is one of the most playful and loving kitties I've ever known and is my best buddy.
