My entry today is about our oldest cat named Jaffa. He is just over two years old. He is also the only kitty of ours that is not black and white he is orange.
We have had him almost 3 months now, but seems so much longer because we have had him through a move and everything.
His story begins now.
His owners an older couple was moving where they couldn’t have pets. We were packing up as well to move with our 3 cats and small son. My husband went to their house to pick up just a cat carrier they were selling that I saw on a sale site. He made his way home and said honey I have some good news. I had asked what and he told me all about Jaffa and how we had to take him in. Well we had THREE already >.< I was like you want to take in another when we are about to move? And he went on to say we just had to. Well we went over the next day to pick him up. They told us about how he likes to run away but always comes back. They told us how just a few months earlier he ran away and got stuck in a car hood and his front paws had got burned :( then told us how he is declawed.
Over here at the Scott’s household we do not believe in declawing cats. It is pretty mean, cats need those claws for mean things it is their nature to have them.
I will go on. So I had never even been around a cat that was declawed. It is pretty funny at times but really when I get to thinking about it, it’s sad :(
He tries to sharpen them on the cat tree and scratchers but it’s just his paws on them no scratching. He tries to scratch at the door and he tries to play with his toys and the cats but he can’t all the way. He is mostly just hitting the cats and he never gets to hunt and get the toys he plays with very well.
You know what scares me the most though is he loves to go outside he runs but always comes back. I am always scared to death something will happen to him because he has no claws he can’t climb a tree to get away from another animal and he can’t defend himself it’s scary.
The saddest thing is he thinks they are still there because they are supposed to be there but are not. I would just say think long and hard what you are taking away when you do this to your kitties. It’s taking apart of them that protects them and that is them it’s there nature let’s not mess with that.

We have 4 wonderful Fur babies here at the Scotts house hold.
I will start with our first two.
Klein and Hobbes we got as babies around June 2012 they were about 12 weeks old at the time we adopted them both :) they had never been a part since they were rescued. We could not bring our self’s to split them up. Hobbes is a sweetie he was recused from a ditch almost dead they formula fed him back to health since he was so young and small. Klein didn’t get formula fed but also was starving when found. We got them from their foster mom Katie, we were looking to bring a kitty into our home to love and grow up with our son (Calvin) would is now almost a year and a half. We ended up with 2 fur babies, which we love dearly.
Then 1.14.2013 we got Luna, Our sweet baby girl she is about the same age as the boys. She was rescued around the same time. I was on a sale site and there she was someone trying to give her away because they were moving. She was in a home with just her and a baby girl the same age as our son. at first Luna didn’t know what to think of her brothers. But very soon they loved each other and they taught her to play.
The last kitty we got was Jaffa our surprise kitty on 2.3.2013. my husband was picking up a cat toy for me and met Jaffa’s parents an older couple who was also moving and couldn’t bring him to the new home. He came home and was like I have great news; I found a sweet kitty that is going to be coming to live with us. I was like WHAT a 4th cat and we went to get him the next day. He was about two years old when we got him our oldest cat.
We have now moved to a new state since we got all our fur babies. We moved from Fort Stewart GA where my husband was in the army and where we got all our kitties from army families. to now living in North Vernon IN. we drove that long drive will all 4 cats in the car plus my son it was one none forgettable drive.
Since moving a cat we call MooMoo has come into our life’s she is an outside cat we let in time to time and feed her. we are thinking about taking her to a vet and getting her checked and finding her a home she is a sweet girl and maybe pregnant.
So this is our kitty story so far and just keeps growing daily :)
