Having her stomach rubbed. "Hiding" in her little house in the closet. Carrying her toys from room to room and storing them in a special place. Knocking her toys - especially balls - under the sofa and waiting for someone to crawl under and get them.
Loud unexpected noises. Being ignored. Not being played with when she's ready. Being put on the bed. Not having access to every room in the apartment at all times!
A lighted ball, a ring on the end of a string that she can chase. Any thing she can make into a disk that can be 'hockeyied' (sp) across the room.
Favorite Nap Spot:
Grey chair next to my bed, across the room under another chair, on the arm rest of the living room sofa where she can leave the most fur.
Iam's natural dry cat food and any high-end wet food with gravy.
Catching balls in mid-air, playing fetch, remembering where all her toys are, even if she can't reach them. Running with amazing speed in any open space and jumping at least 4 feet straight up from a sitting position.
I live in Pasadena, California with one of the better humane societies in the area. I had lost my 13 year old adopted street cat at 13 yrs old and took awhile and the right living arrangements before I was ready to fall in love again.
I saw Coco in the older, diffiicult to adopt part of the shelter. They estimated her at 6 months old. I fell in love with her immediately. Took 3 days of background checks and shots, micro-chipping and getting her fixed before I brought her home.
My room mates' mother is a vet and dhe recognized Coco as an Egyptian Mau and I started doing alot of research on her breed. She matches exactly to all the personality traits I have read on this site - from energy level, lots of vocal range and not afraid to use it preferences, speed, more like a guard dog at times...likes to know where we are at all times and keeps an eye on us. Did I mention sooo intellegent and beautifull!?
Coco Belle is what is called a Bronze Mau. I can see as she gets older her eyes are going more gooseberry. Her tail is ringed in dark grey - but mostly she is a bronze. When shaved on the belly for her neutering, she did exhibit spots that were tattood on her skin as well as fur.
