Fiona used to be the bigger of the two cats, but has lost weight/muscle mass since her surgery. She is slowly building her weight back, but you would never know by the way she struts her alpha status. She bosses Chloe around, monitoring how much Chloe eats, scratching around the dishes to leave her scent. My guilty pleasure is laughing when Fiona pops Chloe on the head. Chloe is bigger and could flatten her like a pancake, but she is not the Alpha. I find the pecking order of the animal kingdom curious.
I also found out that Fiona has asthma. I have it too, but I haven't had my humidifiers going and the pollen/mold count is HUGE where I live. i need to get those going again. I am supposed to watch her, and if it gets worse, get some kitty prednisone. While she is still a little bony, it is sad to see this big footed-yet smaller/thinner cat cough.
She was SO angry/sore from her surgery, but now that she is feeling better, I get mauled. If she could technically hold my face down and lay on my neck all day, she would. I laugh, and it is nice to hold her again, or have her seek me out.

I'm glad to hear recovery is continuing and both girls are feeling much better. I have asthma and have been on an inhaler for years. I get a daily inhaler (flovent) and that cuts down on the number and severity of actual attacks. If I do have an attack, then I get an albuterol inhaler in addition. Oral medications are used occasionally when the weather is triggering a lot of problems, but Mom and my vet do not want to give me oral predinsone very often because it is very hard on my kitty body and causes other issues. Let me know if you want to know anything else about how my asthma is handled, it took mom a while to learn how to manage it well, so we know how it is.
Glad she is feeling better!
