Arrival Story:
Sarabi showed up at my daughter's home during the summer. We realized she was expecting. My daughter tried to find a place to take her until she had the kittens; but the local vet and kitty shelter were both full. So I had decided to bring her with me, but she did not show back up again for a few weeks, not pregnant. We did not want to take her away, since her kittens were somewhere else. She disappeared again for a while; resurfaced on November 4th with 2 kittens (these were too young to be from the first pregnancy). I brought her and the kittens to our home. What an amazing mother she was to her kittens. My husband's niece took the kittens home with her on our Day-after Thanksgiving dinner. Sarabi remains here with us. She was very protective of her kittens, and quite aggressive with the other cats. Once the kittens were gone, she started becoming more playful, wanting to wrestle with the others. But they do not want to have much to do with her; still leary of her. She is a sweet petite little one. :)

We are using the date that she brought the kittens to my daughter's for her birthday. The vet said she was around a year old. November 4th is my dad's birthday, so that makes it special also. I was going to help Dad celebrate, and stopped by my daughter's on the way and found the kittens. I talked my son-in-law into allowing them to stay under the deck (with a carrier, food, water) until I could arrange to find a home or bring them home. Well, 4 days later I brought them home with me. My son named her after Simba's Mom in The Lion King; she was like a Mama Lion when protecting her kittens.
