ok, so today my mommy had another one of her human friends over (surprisingly, she wasn't that scary like her bigger human friends are) but when her human friend's mommy came to pick her up, she walked over and brought their DOG!!!! noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!! grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!! me and this dog, Dandy, have NOT had a good history last time she came. i mean, she chased me up a TREE! now that's the thing i just don't get about dogs, people love them so much, but actually they're really mean and rude if you look what they've done to cats over the years. they are natural ENEMIES.
but anyways, when she brought her over again, my mommy kitty Pearl was out there, unfortunately. she was resting on the table in the front porch. when she saw the dog she sat perfectly still hoping the dog would just leave and not notice her. well that worked only for a little while, because when she thought Dandy wasn't looking, she dashed into the bushes, but Dandy saw her all right. he pulled and tugged in her leash until finally she was out of her human's grasp and made a mad dash for her. they ran all the way to the back yard until she outsmarted her by going upstairs to the deck.the dog couldn't figure out how to get up the steps (dumbo!) and my human mommy finally caught up with her and took her back to her owner.
my poor mommy kitty was traumatized. and i was inside the whole time, haha! i mean poor mommy kitty! MOL!!!!

So sorry you and your mommy kitty had such an awful time with this dog, sadly many of them are like that. There is one awful breed called a pit bull that often kills poor kitties and even humans, daddy and meowmy can't understand why people would even want such a mean evil dog, but there are ignorant people who like them.
Long before Viola and I were even born, meowmy and daddy had a wonderful dog named Misty. She was a Samoyed, a big furry white dog, without a mean bone in her body, a very good natured friendly animal who even loved kitties. They also had a big very friendly white tomcat they adopted from a friend, they think Charlie had been a stray before that. He looked and acted like a Flame Point Siamese, and was an indoor outdoor kitty, and when they let him outside, Misty would try to play with him. She would keep prodding him with her nose, trying get him to play. Charlie would put up with this for awhile, until he got tired of it, at which point he would reach up with a paw and bat at Misty's nose, his way of telling her, "OK, enough of that, now leave me alone!" Sadly both of them are gone now, but it was really funny to watch!
Too bad you don't have a dog friend like that, who would play with you without chasing you or being mean. I am pretty sure that if she had ever felt Charlie was in danger, she would have done whatever she could to help him.
