She loved sleeping on her little yellow pillow.

When Hobbes tried to play boy kitty with her.

Favorite Toy:
A stuffed Ty Turkey

Favorite Nap Spot:
On my parents bed on her little yellow pillow

Favorite Food:
She loved her wet food

She knew how to dig herself under sheets and comforters on the bed when it was cold.

Arrival Story:
I heard tiny cries outside one night. I tried to get my mom to listen but she couldn't hear it. The next day when my mom was hanging clothes outside she heard it. She found helby up in a tree in our backyard crying. So my mom got her out of the tree and brought her inside. We all fell in love with her. She spent a few days in the bathroom. At least until we got her fully checked out. We had her in our life for 14 years.

The Life of a Black and White Cat

Ode to Shelby the Cat (Poem)

I wrote this about 4 years ago when Shelby started getting sick.

Tonight Shelby sits in a small cage
at the Vet's office
Awaiting her fate

How will they treat
the enlarged heart
We must wait

I am trying to think positive
as hard as it may be
to do so at this moment

I miss Shelby being here
laying on my bed
sleeping away

I miss her tonight
In more ways
than just one

So Shelby my cat
I pray for you to survive

The Great Escaping Kitty (Poem)

I wrote this poem/little story about my cat Shelby 7 years ago. Shelby passed away 3 years ago at 14 years of age due to complecations of her thyroid (enlarged heart). She was the sweetest cat.

While you are away
The cat paws at the door
She sees you are not home
And decides to open it
With one paw

She sticks her paw
Right at the corner
Of the door
And with a couple of pulls
She is inside

She says to herself
"Oh how nice
To have the whole house
All to myself"

She goes from bed to bed
And when I get home
I go in my room
And who should be on my bed
But the Great Escaping Kitty
