Arrival Story: I was caught as a feral cat in Loxahatchee, FL, and taken to Peggy Adams Animal Rescue League in West Palm Beach to be neutered, vaccinated, ear tipped and released in June 2012. Early in November 2012, I showed up outside my new furever home in Royal Palm Beach, where I was quickly spotted by Aggie and Maggie. They immediately notified my new human mom who ran to the window to see what my two sisters were looking at. Well, she froze and got really scared because she thought I was Purrcilla Softpaws, that she had somehow escaped (never mind that Purrcilla was in the same room human mom was in). Human mom called out to my new human dad who also ran to the window and, upon seeing my long tail, informed human mom that I was NOT Purrcilla (at that point human mom began breathing again, turned around and saw Purrcilla sitting a few feet away from her). Human mom grabbed some noms and fed me and continued to do so for a few days. She noticed that I stayed close to the patio door and even saw me inside the winter shelter she and human dad put together for that bully cat they feed, Vagabond O.C., so she decided to prop the patio door open one afternoon and I went inside, inspected everything in the patio and then went out again. The next day human mom did the same thing and this time I spent the night in the patio and cried to go out the next morning so human mom opened the patio door and I ran out. The next day, Thanksgiving Day eve, I decided to spend the night again and human mom and human dad decided I was a keeper, so they didn't let me out the next morning. I spent Thanksgiving Day in the patio and human mom spent a lot of time playing with me and talking to me. I also got to see my new fur family through the sliding glass door and that was fun. Then yesterday morning, 11/23/12, human mom came out to the patio early in the morning and I finally allowed her to pet me and boy, that felt soooo good!!! I started rubbing against her and she petted my head and my rump - it was PAWSOME!!! Then she brought a little container full of Tiki Cat Sardines and put in the back of the carrier and urged me to go inside - which I did - and "BAM" she closed the door!! Oh, I didn't like that and I protested loudly, but even though I was upset, I did eat the sardines. Then human dad took the carrier and put it in human mom's car and she drove me to the V*E*T so I could be checked out, vaccinated and bathed. I got a clean bill of health except for having parasites, which was expected since I had lots of fleas and had lived outdoors for my entire life!!! So human mom and dad picked me up from the V*E*T today and brought me to my furever home and they put me in human dad's office where I have my own litter box, bowl of water, bed and toys. I already love my human pawrents, I have licked their toes and fingers and given them love nibbles and they have shown me love like I've never known before!!! I just know I'm going to have a great life.

I'm at the vet's ... Sunday afternoon I started with the same bladder problems I had before, pawrents have been giving me my cranberry concoction/cocktail but it hasn't helped ... mom caught me peeing on a bathroom mat this morning so she checked all the area rugs in the house - yep, I've peed on them too ... Dr. Robinson x-rayed my abdomen, bladder looks fine, lots of food and poop in me *giggles* ... there's an area behind the stomach she could not see clearly, x-rays being sent to radiologist for further study (KA-CHING, extra $70.00) ... I'm getting a shot for pain, sub-q fluids to thin out the urine and some other liquid med ... it's all stressed related and mom thinks I'm picking up her stress and grief because I'm her puppycat, I'm very, VERY attached to my mommy.
Please pray there's nothing seriously wrong in that area behind my fat tummy and that I can get rid of this idiopathic cystitis.
Oh, Dr. Robinson said I'm chunky, I have a scratch above my right eye and some areas on my body the fur looks thin, like I've been over grooming - PFFFT!!!

Would my friends do something very special for me, please? Light a candle for a dear Catster friend, POO, who has been diagnosed with an inoperable malignant tumor in his throat. Treatments do not promise much hope so his mom and dad Jim are going to love him lots and keep him comfortable and happy for as long as possible. Poo is just 11 years old, the same age as my sisfur Aggie who just left for Rainbow Bridge, and their stories are so similar that Aggie has told Poo she's now his very special Guardian Angel. Here's the link for the candle group. Thank you for doing this for a dear friend in need of prayer.
