Arrival Story:
Monkey's momcat was only 8months old when she had a litter of 5 pre-mature kitties. Monkey was the only kitty not seeming to grow. She couldn't even walk as she would just drag her back legs around behind her. I felt so bad for her and could not resist the urge to take her to our vet (she had a clean bill of health since I had already given her a flea bath and earmite treatments) Even though I was not looking f or another kitty, I fell for Monkey and am now her new mommy. Monkey is a huge lover and makes every step mommy makes!

Oh well.I am getting used to mommy missing things around here...I don't know what I am gonna do with her. She says she will make it up to me today with lots of love and treats so I guess I can forgive her. Love to all-Monkey

Hiya furiends!! Sorry it has been a bit since we have been around. Mommy just moved us to a new house and forgot to post about the move before she no longer had internet! Things were going okay, mommy has been keeping us shut in the bedroom to help adjust to the move, but then I got sick. Mommy noticed I was drinking a ton of water. Mommy got worried I might be diabetic so she rushed me into the vet's office for a checkup. The vet initially told mommy I was diabetic and showed her the urine test strip. They kept me overnight and in the morning when mommy called to see how I was doing, they said I could go home that night. Mommy picked me up from the vet on Tuesday and he told mommy I was not diabetic. The vet said they did a blood panel which showed my gluecose was normal and I have a bad UTI which can show on the test strip as glucose. The vet gave mommy antibiotics for me but no pain meds. From the time mommy picked me up I kept shaking and crying. Mommy saw me in my litterbox crying and straining to pee so she called the vet and asked for pain medicine thinking this was why I had been crying. After my first dose of pain meds I started to play a bit and had quieted my crying. Later that day however, I started to cry for what seemed to be no reason. Mommy made sure I had my pain meds and still I cried. To make matters worse, we had a tornado warning so mommy moved all of us to the basement. I didn't like it one bit!! After the threat was gone, mommy moved us back up to the bedroom. I cried all night long. I would wake up in the middle of my sleep and let out blood curtling cries. Mommy would jump up out of bed and come running to me and even though she would try to hold me or pet me nothing she could do would make me stop crying. Last night was rough on me and mommy both. Today I am still crying. Even if I play for a bit I will just let out cries. Mommy does not know what to think and is very worried about me. Is it the move? I was settling in before I went to the hospital. Was it being in the hospital for the first time? The move to the basement on top of everything else? Mommy is worried something more might be wrong with me physically. She told the vet how I keep screaming but he said it was the move and to just give me time. Mommy said she wonders if I am having a little kitty breakdown. Mommy is even more stressed out because when she thought something more was wrong with Smokey, the vet told her give it time for the anti-biotics to work. Mommy called the vet a million times and took Smokey in 3 times for her ear infection before they operated on her ear. less than 2 weeks later Smokey passed away from the infection going to her brain. Thursday was 3 weeks since Smokey passed away and mommy is going out of her mind with worry for my health now too. Whay do you kitties think I keep crying and seem to be un-comforted?
