Howdy friends from Arizona,
Well here I go again, I am all blocked again, I only have a few minutes to let you know I am at the Vet ER and will be for at least 2 days maybe longer. Mom caught me trying to pee in the kitchen sink this morning, it was to let her know I was having trouble peeing, then I tried in the potty box for at least 5 minutes, then I went into their bathroom and pee a very small amount on the bath mat...Mom had already called the new vet, they are a smaller vet and just couldn't fit me in today, not even if they left me there, Mom was a little upset, but understood...they recommended the Southern Arizona Veterninary Specialty & Emergency Center 20 miles away. So Mom & Dad drove me there, I was not a happy boy at all. They took me right away, Mom didn't get to say good bye to me, but they knew I was coming and wanted to get things started to help me pee.
So I am there and not happy at all....of course Mom isn't either but she will do anything for me...it will be more expensive for me to be there and get the care I need.
Meowing lots and unhappily too...but boy do I smoosh the vet ladies they are all loving on me and I am loving on them...hate having the catheter in me, but now I know it will help me..
Kody's Mom here: yes Kody is at the ER for his blockage, I may have to find another vet that is larger, I can't always be taking him 20 miles away to get unblocked...The vet asked if we have consider the surgery to correct his blockage, I told her say but we don't want to do that unless absolutely necessary and the last resort...
He is doing well I am waiting to hear how he did this afternoon, of course they are all falling in love with my sweet loving boy. They told me that i could keep pain killers that will relax him on hand to give to him, so I will have to talk to the vet to see if I can get some and of course the cosequin.
I know that he can't keeping this up and I will eventually have to make a decision but I don't want to do the surgery....had any one else done the surgery!
We are getting more settled, but I am afraid that we have more to do, have to have our backyard landscaped, someone do some window coverings for a couple of rooms. So I will have to try to keep the stress level down for him which is hard to do because he acts normal and he seems that things are not bothering him....
So hopefully soon my boy will be home and we will be more settled so we can spend more time here...I will let you all know how he is doing....purrs for him are always welcomed..
hugs from all of us
Kody and Mom Peggy
Awww Kody, I am so sorry buddy that you had to go to the vet ER. I've been there, too, because of pee problems and it is NO fun I tell you. Our whole family sends hugs and healing purrs to you and your Mom. Hope you feel better soon!
Thank you Sammy! we hope so too, especially me, I want to go home!
I will stop by with some chicken noodle soup and healing angel dust and some mama cat cuddles if you want them.(I know sometimes big boys don't want mama cat cuddles.) All my sibs are purring for you sweetie. We are so sorry you are at the vet again :(
Aww Kody I am so sorry to hear of this. Have had this problem twice and know about the surgery. Haven't had it myself. On special food for the rest of my life. I use the UR Stox formula at the vets, and mom adds water to it too. No more hard food for me, its a no no!! Watch the magnesium levels in the foods and you may want to switch to distilled water, just in case there is alot of minerals in the water. Meowmy has to travel 31.5 miles to the vets for me. To pick up my food and take us in. She does what she must, as we live in a tiny village. Just letting you know about the food and water, poor guy hopefully he can finally get this resolved once and for all
We sure hope you will get a lot better really soon.
Hopefully you won't need that surgery...but we sure hope you can find the right kind of food for yourself.
Sending lots of POTP to you, Kody!
Oh, we are so sorry to hear you are at the vet! Hope you feel better soon and can come home! Purring you won't have to have the surgery and they can get your blockage under control!
Hugs and purrs,
Simon & Reuben(an angel)
We are sending lot's of Prayers out to You Kody. Feel better soon My Cowboy Friend!!!
Oh no, Kody! We are so sorry that you are having pee troubles again. I have had those pee problems in the past, but have been doing OK the past couple of years. Paws crossed. Mom keeps trying to get me to eat wet food to help, but I just don't want it. I will lick the gravy but that's it. Sure hope you get better really soon & don't have to have that surgery. We are purring for you, dear friend.

aw Kody my man...not again dude! Tig blocked twice, and the vet mentioned about the surgery. Luckily, he has not had any more issues for about 5 years.*knock wood The water issue is also worth looking into, perhaps certain minerals can drive the PH askew. I purchased PH strips and here & there will test Tig's pee. (they look at you weird when you stick a strip by the hiney) That way I always have an idea. I also give a supplement that keeps the PH normal and has things in it to encourage more dilute urine. I can give you the info in case you want to check it out. or ask your vet. It is very frustrating, and scary. There has been so much going on for you guys, and it can't be helped. I will say DO read up on that surgery. I think it is useful if there is no choice, but it is not without complications either. From what I have learned, IF you decide, to make sure the vet doing it has done MANY of these. It is a delicate area. Kody - dude this is NOT the way to meet new people! mol HOpe he is doing well. Peggy - pawmail or email me if you want to talk!
