I was visiting a friend who works at the Austin Animal Center and walked with her as she carried towels to the cat room. As we were walking by a wall of cages, a black paw reached out and hooked my t-shirt. My friend introduced me to a lovely copper=eyed black cat called "Admiral." I couldn't adopted him that day, as it was too close to closing. When I called the next day to put him on hold, he had been pulled by a cat rescue. I drove 57 miles and paid a $150 adoption fee to get my "Oberon."
