Arrival Story:
On the morning of Thursday, July 12, 2012, my identical twin sister Rita & I made our daily food delivery for feral cats. Peake was there and he was meowing constantly. Since we have worked with many feral cats (trapping to get them spayed and neutered), we know there are a few feral kittens who can be picked up and luckily, Peake was one of them.
A trip to Dr. Timothy Curtis of Beechwold Veterinary Hospital found him to weigh 2.86 pounds (he weighed in 3 weeks later at 4.12 pounds!). His tests for FeLV and FIV were negative.
We love him!
Bio:
Peake is the first cat we have adopted since we've had our precious tuxedo girl Lola (who turns 18 years old today---August 15, 2012). Lola was the only kitten of a non-feral calico dumped in our neighborhood. I rescued Lola at the age of 5 weeks and she has never been around other cats.
Peake tries to be Lola's friend but Lola hisses at him and sometimes growls (there has just been a few paw swats from Lola but she does not aim to hit Peake - just to make him back up!).

It's been 5 days since Lola left. I really miss her.
I hope she knew that all that jumping and running around and chasing I did was not to frighten her - I was just playing.
Lola was so sweet. Not once did she hit me. If I didn't respect her space, I would get a low growl or hiss and sometimes she would swat at me with her paw, but not once did that sweet paw of hers ever touched me.
I love you, big sister.
