The mailman came late this afternoon and dropped off some packages on our front porch. Mom brought them inside the house and decided to go in the computer room, which is next to the front porch, to start concentrating on making some Fourth of July pages for us. Huey played really hard today at the dog park so he was crashed on the floor next to her. Riley was sleeping in one of the beds in the computer room. Dad worked today and wasn't home yet.
When Mom finished making our pages, probably an hour later, she walked out of the room and was shocked to see me running into the house from outside! Yep, after the mailman left, she didn't lock the front door properly so it quietly blew open a little.
So then Mom hurries outside and doesn't see any of us out there and then starts going around the house counting cats! Then she started opening cans of food to feed us and that brought all of us out. We were all there!
We have a video camera for the front porch and it's set to send email alerts, so when Mom went and checked her email, there were at least a dozen video clips and she knew they were all going to be of us!
OMC....there were clips of me, Pixie, Nike, and Sofie! We went in and out several times checking things out around the porch and Mom could see that we stepped off the porch but doesn't believe we went much further than that!
Dad just got home and was shocked to hear the story. He was too busy at work to check his email alerts for the video camera.
I guess Riley, Reebok, Joy, Enzo, and Melody missed out on the adventure, but Mom and Dad are just happy we're all home!
OMC! What an adventure you, Pixie, Nike and Sofie had! And to think Huey didn't hear a thing. He must have been so tired from the park or I am sure he would have been out there with you. MOL!
That was a great Mothers Day present for your Mom that you all stayed around the house and came back in after your fun. Whew!! You cats have it too good there to go too far. I am so glad this story had a happy ending. Now your pawrents can enjoy the videos of your adventure. I bet your Mom will always double check that door from now on!
Happy Mothers Day to your Mom from us!!
Zoey and Zack
Is good you dinnit run 'way. Yer mama & daddy & other kitties & doggy be so sad if you leafed home.
Hi Zoey and Zack,
If Mom opened the shutters on the side window in the office she would have seen us and ruined our fun!
We didn't want to run away, we were just very curious. And we're glad we'll be home for Mother's Day like we should be.
Happy Mother's Day to your Mom too!
Yes, there's no place like home! I think we would have been too scared to wander too much further.
WOW Pebs! I was scared just reading your story! So glad for the happy ending! Happy Mother's Day to your mom!
Thanks, Ollie. Good thing we weren't interested in running away but just wanted to check things out!
Happy Mother's Day!
OMC - you got caught on tape? MOL! I'm glad you didn't wander off any farther, and you better get on your Mom to check her email more often!
Newman, it wouldn't have been funny if we ran off somewhere but since we didn't, Mom and Dad think it's funny after watching the video clips. We had a good time for at least an hour! Just think if Mom decided to check her email while working on making pages and saw that we were outside.
There is a window in the computer room that looks out to the porch but the shutters are kept closed so if strangers are on our porch they can't look in. If they were open, maybe we would have stood up and peeked in on Mom. MOL!
We spent the rest of the evening sitting around like nothing happened.
