Arrival Story:
My mothes lives in rural Maine and has a constant stream of mostly-feral cats coming in and out of her house and having kittens. At the time, we had two cats: Hoover, who is definitely My Cat, and Samantha, who is incredibly neurotic, but who is inclined to be fond of me and my husband and is afraid of my teenaged daughter. My daughter wanted a cat to be hers, and my mom had yet another littler of feral kittens, so over my protestations, we adopted Tigger.

Bio:
Tigger has grown up to be a very loving cat. For a while, he didn't care much for people, but he decided within a week of moving into our house that he *loved* Hoover, and started following him around and trying to play with him. Hoover initially tolerated this with ill grace (Hoover hadn't figure out yet that he wasn't a little helpless kitten himself) but got to be very fond of Tigger, and now either of them will go about the house calling for the other if one of them has got himself shut in someplace. I would really prefer Tigger not to be an indoor/outdoor cat, and am bracing m yself for it to be thea death of him sooner or later, but he is, unfortunately, an accomplished escape artist. Tigger is finally, at the age of five, growing up into a dignified-looking (and even sometimes dignified-acting) gentleman cat. He's still not a pick-up cat, but he likes jumping into my lap to be petted, or lying on top of me while I am reading in bed. His purr isn't as loud as Hoover's or Roshi's, but it is good and relaxing and comfortable.

I am one of only two cats now. The Evil One died this winter, and had stopped being evil long ago. Our house now has more dogs than cats, if you can believe it.

Way too hot today. But it's cooling off tonight, so I am out making my rounds. I hope the mice are out, it's been way too long.

Wow, it's been a long time

Mom hasn't updated my journal for me in forever. She's very sorry about that.

It's very hot and humid lately. I am spending a lot of time lying in the shade and waiting for it to cool down. There's no point in hunting, all my prey is hiding too.

The hierarchy has changed sine Mom last updated. For one, we have a dog now, so The Queen of Evil and I have declared a tentative truce. For two The Eldest got sick, so the Queen of Evil now eats first. The Eldest went away yesterday. I don't think he is coming back. He had been smelling like death for a couple of days, and yesterday he was following Mom around and asking her to help him. And now Mom is sad.
