Arrival Story: My brother found Meanie beside a dumpster he and his friends were planning on jumping with there bikes. He meowed at my brother so pitifully that my brother called me to come and get him. So I did and when I saw him I prayed my grandma would let me keep him. When she saw him she said yes after some lengthy begging and promises to help buy food. He slept tucked in my armpit of all places that first night, and every night after he was always either on my pillow or by my side.
Bio: Meanie fell sleep for the last time in the summer of 2004. Since he was was outdoor cat he often scavenged for some of his food, just because he could. It was due to his scavenging that he ate something he shouldn't have. Rat Poisioning. It seemed the complex that my grandma lived in wanted to 'get rid' of all the stray cats, so thay put out poison. Meanie ate some and by the time he was showing signs he was way to affected by the poison to be helped. Calling the animal control people to come and help end my babys life was the worse call I ever had to make. I sat with him on my lap telling him how much I loved him and would never forget him until Linda(the animal control lady from the Humane Society) arrived. He was barely twos years old and his life was cut short because some jerks were to cheap to hire someone to professionally take care of the 'cat problem'. I will never forgive the people who did this to my cat. I found out later that Meanie died on the way to the humane society. So please I urge everyone to keep your cats indoors if you live in an apartment complex. Its not worth the cat to be free if there are some many dangers out there.
