Arrival Story:
I was a born in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia on April 1, 2011. I was rescued by a nice man from the United States who used to see me begging for food at a shawarma shop near a hotel he was staying at. I would always be really nice and look as cute as I could to get food from the customers at the restaurant. They liked my little mustache and would give me scraps of shawarma meat and french fries. The nice man thought I was cute and I used to ask for lots of food and affection from him and the other customers before I would hide in my sleeping place under a car or power generator. One day he found me hurt, laying near the shop with an injured leg. He took me to the doctor. The nice workers at the Jeddah Veterinary Clinic gave me a bath and took good care of me. They said I had a fractured left leg, fleas, and ringworm. I had to stay with the doctor for about a month until Sam could take me home, but he came to visit me every other day, held me and played with me. He even brought me toys! I used to look forward to seeing him and whenever the door to the room where I was staying opened, I would rush to the cage entrance and if it wasn't him, I'd lay down and be sad until he came to see me. One day, he came to get me and put me into a small carrier; we flew on a huge plane to Germany and then to the U.S. I was SO good I didn't pee or poop once! (but I did have gas and he was embarrassed because I kept farting and it smelled :) ) He flew me with him in the airplane cabin, I even got to fly business class! What a change from the streets of Jeddah! When we got off the plane in the U.S., he and his wife took me to my new home, a big house in Virginia with a huge yard and lots of birds and neighborhood cats to say hi to through the windows. I love my new home and my pet parents. I even have a kitty sister named Nala, but she's a bit grumpy and still getting used to me. I just have so much energy and want to play all the time--she's older and isn't used to having other kitties around. I'll keep trying to convince her to play more often and growl less. I am so thankful for my house and my wonderful cat parents! My journey has been difficult but I'm finally where I belong :) I have a Facebook page too! Come on over and 'like' it and you can follow my adventures in America. :) urney
