indoors Arrival Story: We were at the vet getting our two Australian Shepherds Vaccinated. A man came in with this tiny, tiny little kitten and told them the following story. He was out fishing on the lake and noticed a boat a little ways from him throwing a trash bag around the boat and finally throwing overboard and took off. He watched the bag float a bit and realized something was clawing to get out. In trying to get to it the boat was causing a wake and pulling it under. He saw the kitten get out of the bag and paddle paddle paddle until it finally went under, still trying to get to it without causing more wake, he cast his fishing line in and snagged the little girl. Upon pulling her in she was not breathing, he gave her the kiss of life!! She sputtered and began to breath. He being a breeder of bird dogs, just could not keep her, his dogs were going insane. Needless to say I was bawling my eyes out by now. The vet was full of cats and could not board her, they told him they would put her to sleep for him. I jumped up and said OH NO YOU WON"T!! She has already been dead once and I will not let her die again. We will take her. My husband in horror was like....have you lost your mind?? These two dogs will eat her for lunch. I told him they would learn to live together or ELSE. I won. Thus Phoenix was brought home, her name given for rising from death and of course because she certainley resembles the color of ashes!!
