Lovebug Tag!

My pal Peanut tagged me. I'm a few days late (what can I do -- lazy mom!), but here goes.

1. Meow! Are you a noisy kitty or a quiet kitty?
Well, I'm kind of on the quiet side. I mostly let my big blues do the talking, but occasionally I let loose with a meow or two. Or maybe three.

2. Litterbox! Cover your business or let some other kitty cover?
Nope, I don't cover.

3. Happy! Favorite Daily Routine?
I've established a detailed daily schedule around here and it must be adhered to. It begins in the morning and continues throughout the day.

4. Hiss! Least Favorite Routine?
Anything to do with the v-e-t.

5. Ding-Dong! What do you think about visitors to your house?
If I know them, that's okay. However, my mom has a friend who regularly brings her small humans with her and I have to admit I'm not crazy about them.

6. Friends! Do you like other animals?
No not really. I'm a loner.

Thanks, Peanut, for asking me! I tag any and every cat who reads this diary!

Hazel Lucy

My mom and I are beyond shocked and saddened today. Hazel Lucy went to the Bridge.

Hazel Lucy will be well and happy and free from her body at the Bridge. And, of course, she will be with her beloved Buddie.

It's Hazel's mom who needs our virtual hugs today. Nobody could have been a better mom to Hazel Lucy and she will feel her loss deeply. The out pouring of love from her Internet community has been overwhelming. When the first rush of pain goes away, I hope she will take comfort in this.

My mom send our love to Hazel Lucy and to Julie, her mom. The mark you made on all our hearts is forever.

We will never forget you, Hazel Lucy.

I Got Tagged!

My pal Spit Fire tagged me and here's the topic: 5 Reasons My Humans Annoy Me.

This is going to be fun!

1. I ask so little, I really do. Is it too much to expect that my night time water cup be in place no later than 6:15 p.m. daily?
2. I ask so little, I really do. When I want my breakfast should I really be required to engage in an increasingly loud, passive-aggressive display every morning in order to get her out of bed?
3. I ask so little, I really do. When I want attention and I indicate such by doing something heartbreakingly adorable such as batting my ball around adorably, sometimes when she's "working" or something like that, she fails to get up and admire me immediately.
4.I ask so little, I really do. When my Mom does laundry, she lets me lie in a big pile of warm towels and it's one of my favorite times of the week. That's right, I said week. Since I love it so much and my mother knows I love it so much, why does she only do this once a week? Is daily too much to ask?
5. I ask so little, I really do. Do I really have to say it: No more outfits! I have to give my Mom credit because she does it a a whole lot less than she used to. But, gee, Mom, just because you can put clothes on a guy, it doesn't mean you should. Please, Mom. I have my feline dignity, thank you very much.

I tag:
Nikko: My Ragdoll pal and brother from another mother
Luke: My long-time Pal in Nakedness
Tessa: My beautiful Ragdoll friend
Inky: Samoa's new brother may be new to this human stuff, but I bet he's got a few things he'd like to get off his fur
Jaffa: My super cool new English pal

And anybody who reads this and wants to play, come on and vent!

It only takes a minute and the North Carolina kitties would really appreciate it! Go here to comment:

Thanks , furiends!

Zoey Inspired Me!

That sweet kitty tagged me and inspired me to write my first diary in...well, way too long.

So here are my answers:

1. Do you ever wake your parent up in the night? Sometimes. I specialize in slow and steadily growing annoyance. I'll start around 5 a.m. with a few small chirpy meows at two minute intervals. Then I'll step it up and perhaps throw in some mad dashes across the bed. Then I'll get LOUDER. A whole lot LOUDER. At this point (usually about an hour total), she's ready to give in and get up. Other times I let her sleep. It all depends on my mood.

2. Do you ever tear up things? No, I'm a good boy! (Thank you, Lola.)

3. What is your favorite treat? You know, I don't really like treats. I'm just not big on food. I eat my prescription food, so I think Mom's happy that she doesn't have to deal with worrying about any treats she might give me.

4. Can you fetch something when asked to do so? Yes. But I don't CHOOSE to do so. I do like to play fetch sometimes when she'll throw my toys and I'll bring them back to her. Sometimes when I want her attention and she's reading a book or watching TV and is too selfish to pay attention to me, I'll bring her a toy. She thinks that's very cute, so it always works.

5. Have you ever lived any place other than where you live now? Yes, I lived with my breeder first, then I moved in with my Mom. We lived in a smaller place for a year or so, then we moved to where we are today. I've lived in my current home for 10 years.

I'm tagging any kitty and every kitty who reads this!

Mom and I are so sorry for her mom and dad. Run and jump and play at the bridge, RA. There are lots of friends waiting for you. My heart and that of my mom are just two of the MANY in your heart basket.

Purrs and love forever,

Calvin is an Angel.

I'm Keeping Up With All Your Catster Adventures

My Mom and I want to apologize that it seems as if I haven't been updating my page as often recently. But we're still visiting Catster almost every day and keeping up with all the triumphs and fun and sadness and friendship.

The reason is that Mom has taken on a number of new responsibilities both in her real life and in her online life by taking over a leading role at a Web site she's been involved in for a number of years. The end result is not enough hours in the day.

Catster is still a favorite moment of calm and fun in both of our days. We are both well. And we continue to wish the very best for every Catster and their humans!

The Cat in the Clover

If only my Mom could figure out exactly what she is doing wrong, there would be a link in my new photo caption to the lovely and talented Samoa's Mawmee's Cat in the Clover etsy shop.

Which is a shame because we would like everybody to know how cute her ties are -- and they're interchangeable. I have a veritable wonderland of ties to suit everyone occasion!

Thanks, Samoa and Mawmee.

Today Is Our Anniversary

10 years ago today I came to live with Mom.

She found me in a little tiny house filled with Ragdolls (she said that was quite a sight) where I was ranked #38 in the hierarchy of 38 resident cats. You see, I was no longer a "cute kitten" since I was 8 months old and I wasn't old enough to be a breeder. I was even on sale!

I got a big promotion when I came to live with Mom. It's good to be king.

I'm a little bit off my food these days from the antibiotic I'm taking, but my paw is definitely feeling better. My thanks to Samoa for the rosette and for everybody who took the time to pmail me.

Mom and I will be spending some time together tonight and this weekend and Mom has promised me a photo session. I have some wonderful new ties from the Mawmee of a certain Diva Princess Kitty that I can't wait to show off.
