A Cat's Life - Giggity!

My new home & family

Well, it looks like I found a forever home now. I had been living with my foster Mommy since I was 2 days old and I thought I'd stay with her forever. But she couldn't keep me.

You see, I was found in a home with 35 cats. A hoarder. My cat mom ate all of my siblings, and I'm the only one that survived. Petit Pawz, a Montreal-based shelter, saved me from that horrible place!

My new Poppa and Mamma took me to their home last Saturday. At first, I didn't want to leave my foster Mamma Kim, and it took a long time to get into that stranger cage. It was full of another cat's smell! But Kim cut out a piece of my favourite blanket to put in there, and I ended up going in there without too much trouble. I didn't even cry!

The ride to my new home was a piece of cake. My new parents were surprised that I wasn't nervous at all on the subway and the bus. When we finally arrived home, they took me to this room, kind of a safe room for me to roam into. I was coldly greeted by the house cat. But damn, was she hot! She has pitch black fur with a white spot on her neck and another one on her belly, and a long tail. I realized that it was HER smell that was in the cage.

But boy, the attraction wasn't mutual. She hissed and growled at me. But that's alright, I like them feisty and when they play hard-to-get! GIGGITY! So I just stayed in my little corner, trying to find a move to get to her. I hissed and growled back at her, hoping it would win her over and prove to her I wasn't a complete wimp. ;)

She started warming up to me (ALL RIGHT!) the next morning. I got out of my safe room and went to give my new parents a visit. I even took a nap on their bed! Something that lady cat - I hear her name is Munchkin - didn't appreciate much at first, but a few hours later, she was sitting on the bed with me, just a few inches away!

I've been a little shy though... This new home thing is stressing me out a little, but I'm slowly coming out of my shell. My Mamma and Poppa even fed me some tuna! They were worried because I hadn't eaten much since I came to their home.

Now Munchkin tried to mount me this morning. GIGGITY GIGGITY! I like where this is going...

To be continued...

Welcome to Catster, Giggity! What a great name!

We are so glad you now have a furever family and SISTER, not brother like we said in our friend invite.

Glad you survived the hoarders. The rescuers we were first with were hoarders too with like 100 cats and even kids and adults living in one small 1 bedroom house. Luckily we were only with them a week.

We are so happy that you have a furever family and are safe. It will be fun watching you grow up on catster!

Luv,
Zoey & Zack

Thank you for your reply and warm welcome! :)

Btw my name is Quagmire. ;) My Mamma and Poppa named me after a character from the show FAMILY GUY because they say that apparently, I am as flirty and a 'ladies man' as this 'Quagmire'. "Giggity" is something cartoon Quagmire loves saying.

Great to read that you were saved from hoarders. I was very very young when this all happened, but my foster Mamma told me it was horrible. Now I'm very happy to have a loving family that treats me so well. I'm so lucky.
