indoors Arrival Story: Her mother was giving birth to her in a trash can outside of my sister's work place. Her coworker called the Animal Control Service, but we don't have a no kill shelter in my small little southern town. So my sister, not wanting to give the mother and kittens a death sentence, took the mother and her only born kitten home and left them in her shed in a nice warm box so she can continue to give birth. But my sister didn't think that since the mother was feral that moving her would cause extreme stress. So when my sister returned home she saw Luna still covered in blood and attached to her afterbirth alone in the box and the mother hid in a corner and gave birth to the rest of her kittens but left them in their fluid sacks letting them suffocate. Devastated, she called me since I was the only one she knew with experience, and I rushed to her because Luna had gone hours without her first mother's milk and cold and wet. I warmed her up and filled her tummy and we finally caught the poor mother and drove to the nearest town with a no-kill shelter and boarded her up. I made the difficult decision to keep Luna and raise her as my own since the shelter said she would have she would have a lower chance of success if we gave her to one of the volunteers. I'm happy to say that the mother has now been adopted to a loving home.
