Black and White
Petting, silver things, Patricia, plastic bags, rubber bands, the newspaper
Being moved from the foot of my bed, Wilbur sitting near her, tummy rubs
crumpled aluminum foil and toilet paper (Who said cats need real toys?)
Favorite Nap Spot:
She slept on most chairs and all four beds, often with Patricia.
Dry Science Diet - she would not eat anything else except treats
She usually drank water by dipping her paw in and licking it off.
After my dad talked my mom into letting me have a cat because neither wanted a dog, he made the announcement on my 17th birthday in a card. But my birthday is in late January so I had to wait for kitten season to start looking for one.
We finally started our search on May 14. That day, Dad decided tuxedo cats are the cutest so we narrowed it down to black and white kittens at his request. We already had decided to get a girl because boys can spray even after they are neutered. When we found a good one at a pet store, Dad said we should go home and talk about it, then return when the store opens again. We went back early enough, but that kitten was already gone. So Dad called a humane society to ask if they have some black and white kittens. They said yes, so we went there.
When we adopted Emily, she had a respiratory infection. Other medical problems were accidental: falling out of a window and staying outside overnight, where another animal bit her; and swallowing a needle that she found on the floor. But she did not get sick again until age ten, when she had hyperthyroidism, and although that was successful, renal failure killed her two years later.
