Arrival Story:
Our Mr Z has brought us together. Male Human goes to the pound every week to see if, Mr.Z has been found and may be there waiting for us. He had been doing this since November 17th. A few weeks he had to work late and Girl Human would have to go in his place. Girl Human searched Petfinder's every night and saw this kitty on the pounds page. She had gone up for adoption as no one claimed her as lost. The pound was located in temporary quarters. Since she was going in that direction she stopped in to look for Mr. Z and see this kitty they called Miss Kitti. Girl Human could not believe something this beautiful had not been claimed by it's owner. Girl Human was in the process of adopting a dog at the time so had no intrest in being home another kitty. The Humans were also getting ready for a new project. This beautiful cat was in the middle cage of a row of stacked wire cages. As soon as Girl Human walked into the room, this cat started giving her a big hello. She stuck her paw out and looked at her with her big blue eyes. She talked and talked to Girl Human. Girl Human left and went to Grandma Humans. She told her what she had seen. This beautiful kitty had a bad front leg. She could not bend it at the elbow. She said such beauty surly would be chosen bey one of the rescue groups. The next week she was still there. Girl Human visited her again and received the same warm reception. Girl human was getting ready to adopt the beautiful dog she had fallen in love with she could not think of her too. Those blue eyes were haunting and memorable. Every day the beautiful cat was still on Petfinders. Girl Human kept hoping that one of the rescue groups would take her and put her in a foster home. Girl Human made a gut wrenching decision not to get the blind dog. she felt she would not be able to afford it's medical needs in the future. Sadly told them no. He is still waiting for a home and she only wishes there would have been a way to have assured his future needs she would have gotten him. She still keeps hoping there may be a way. We need an angel to support this adoption. Where are those angels with deep pockets when you need them??? The next week was moving week for the shelter. It was pouring rain, 7.5 inches that day. She went to the shelter and they had different hours so she had to wait 2 hours get in. She went in the door and was greeted by 5 calico kittens, 4 weeks old. They were cute but always adoptable. She just wanted to see if a rescue group or her owner had claimed her. The cats were gone all gone. They called to see where she was. The girl said, Oh they took her back to the shelter that had been remodeled. A sigh of relief. Girl Human drove to the shelter in the pouring downfall. Miss Kittie was in a cage on the floor near the front door. She was asleep. As soon as she heard me she woke and started her greeting. Girl Human took out the camera and made a movie of her. A kennel attendant took her out of the cage so Girl Human could get a better picture. All weekend she kept looking at the movie. She posted it on her Facebook page. Miss Kittie's days were numbered. She left an E-mail for the shelter and asked that she not be put Miss Kittie down as this is a kill shelter and the time is limited to 10 days. The E-mail read, if she was to be put down to please call her. On Tuesday she had heard from them as to, if they received the E-mail. Wednesday morning she called and talked to the shelter manager. She was told that they would not put her down. A big sigh of relief. While waiting to hear from the shelter about her e-mail. She started asking fellow Catsters to put her in contact with people who had Snowshoes and Tri kitties. She could not fully use her front left leg. She hoped if she received an answer to her Facebook plea for someone to get her she needed to know more about this cat. The first day Girl Human got no response to her diary entry. The next day she added a P.S. diary and started getting a response to her questions within hours. She met some new Catster's got a few new friends for us. She started learning things about both Snowshoes and Tri kitties. Thanks to the Catster Community. The more she started reading the more interesting this cat became. Thursday came and it was Male Human's visit day. He came home and he said she's so cute. I felt like scooping her up and bringing her home. The constant looks and smiles on Male Humans face made the decision that this cat was going to be called Meshia and was coming to her forever home. If she was still there. Early Friday Girl Human took Blue for his appointment and told them of what she was thinking of doing. At 11:00 a.m. she called the shelter. Is she was still there??? She was. The rest is the beginning of our about to begin history.

Her Vet visit before she came to the Junction revealed she had a cold??? It also relieved she had been fixed. She did not have to spend her first nights at the Vets. She was tested and she had all negatives. Good news. So she came to the Junction. She is living in the guest room. Away from all concerned. She is so happy to be able to roam and stretch. She purrs and purrs. She is staying in a large carrier at night with a litter box and water dish. She's happy with the arrangements. We want her contained at night for her own safety. We don't want her to hurt herself. Girl Human gave her a few used toys she loves them. She started playing with them right then. She seemed so joyed to have them. Now it is one year later and our Meshia is such a dear. We all love her to death. When anyone visits she has to be the first to say hello. She is everyone's favorite. Meshia has that look of being a little devil in her beautiful blue eyes. Thank You Mr.Z so very much for bringing us together. We only hope you are as happy where ever you may be. We miss you and know Meshia was our gift from you. Fate does have strange twists and Meshia is the best twist we have been given.

3rd Birthday and 1'st Gotcha Day

Well it's hard to believe it has been a whole year I have been at the Junction. What a time it has been for all of us. I am one very spoiled, happy kitty. When you read my profile you can see how special our meeting was.
I got to eat lamb off the grill and mashed potatoes for my Birthday dinner and all of the guys inside got their share too. Sweeny wanted everyone's leftovers and any more he could talk the humans into. He is a lamb addict, I'm turning into a meat-a-holic myself. I grab what ever is unattended raw or cooked.
All in all I'm a purrrty happy girl. I go in and visit Pooh Bear every day. He really likes me and enjoys my company. I sleep in my own little place at night. I have claws and love the couch arms.
When I get hungry or tired I claw the curtains very carefully to get attention. I never damage them. Girl Human gets to her feet and gets what I want then and there. Works purrrfectly for me.
So now, I have my Human's trained well. My transition was quit easy as the others are not sure how to treat a kitty hopping about like a bunny rabbit. Girl Human was concerned with me having the use of 3 legs. She soon found out I fly about like I have 5 legs. I jump long distances. So long that I can make a heart stop.
I have mastered the entire house without a care. I have all the cats in order. No one fights with me except that old cat, Sophia. Since she is deaf, I sneak up on her and scare her. What a funny thing she is. She sounds like a great big balloon with a big hole in it. She goes on and on and on. I would think she would run out of air sometime. I did understand at first but, now I got her number. Tee Hee.
Now i'm off to see what I can get into tonight. I'm special today so maybe I will put a claw into the shears just to be different.
Happy Birthday to me, Happy Birthday to me----Gotcha!!! Tee Hee!!!!

New Digs

Girl Human gave me a new place to spend my nights. I have my bed, my litter pan a new water dish and more room to move about. I am happy to go to bed and enjoy my new home. She has been leaving the fiber optic Christmas tree on for an hour after I get in my digs. I love watching the prurrrty lights. Peaches shares the cage above me. I don't think he likes his digs like, I do. His meow doesn't work well now so, his complaints are not heard to well. I tell him it is fine and he is lucky to have his very own place to sleep. He is safe and warm. I don't think he is into the whole thing like, I am. I have been sleeping in my little place every night since I came to the Junction. I feel safe, warm and happy. Really I don't think the Humans trust me out and about on my own at night. I can't help I like to explore places I'm not allowed to go. Well I guess this compromise is fine with me. Night Night everyone.
