Goodbye Earth, Hello Rainbow Bridge

October 25, 2008 is a day that will never be forgotten. Angel really became an angel in animal heaven...

After many months of trying to make my husband's pitbull a good family pet, disaster struck. Out of nowhere she attacked Miss Angel. Declawed and with only 4 teeth, she was unable to defend herself. Thank heaven for a vet living across the street who gave a very fast prognosis and made some calls. Miss Angel sat up in the car on the way to the ER Vet, and she purred. I told her i loved her and I'm sorry this happened... I got to hold her for her last moments of life. I put my hand on her chest and felt her slip away to the Rainbow Bridge. I have never had a cat that old. She lived a long, happy, pampered life. I have cried and cried and cried.

The dog was taken away 2 days later. Nothing will ever replace my Miss Angel, and I hope to never have to experience such tragedy again.

Please keep my other kitties in your prayers. They have had to say goodbye to a long time companion!

Being Sick is No Fun!

Oh boy what a month I've had! About 3 weeks ago I had trouble breathing and mama got really scared. I had to breathe really hard and i didn't want to eat or drink. For 2 days i felt really crummy and mama was so scared. She tried to ask the vet across the street for help but nobody would come to the door! Oh boy I have never seen mama so mad and worried in her life! Finally we went to our normal vet Dr. Warner. He is such a good man, and his helpers are really sweet. They said I had pneumonia and also asthma. My sister Gracie has asthma too. He told mama that my age (a youthful 18) was working against me. I was feeling really grumpy and mama cried alot and told me please get better Angel Marie cause i love you! Well finally after the vet took my blood, gave me penicillin and prednisone and some other shot, I decided to drink water. Then the 2nd day they finally gave me some wet food and I ate it! Mama came to see me and guess what? They let her take me home! I had to take prednisone pills for 5 more days. YUK! But I was happy to be back in my own room at home with my cozy box and my own space, no barking dogs in the vet's office, no lonely nights. All my brothers and sisters had to smell me.. you know going to the vet's office you always get a funny smell... and Ginger the dog tried to play with me. I feel alot better now. Mama told her boyfriend NO SMOKING near me. He has asthma too but he is dumb and doesn't try to take care of himself. But mama said listen buddy if you smoke you are going to get my Angel sick and she might die cause she is old and not as strong as everyone else!!! Thank you mama and Dr. Warner for getting me healthy again!

My First Entry

Hi everyone and Purrsss!!
I have not written in my diary yet. I guess cause i'm lazy and old. I am almost 18 and my human mommy calls me "senior citizen". I am healthy but i won't potty in the litter box anymore. Puppy weewee pads are alot easier! I am really grumpy and I hate all my brothers and sisters. But mommy gave me my own room and she feeds me when i cry for 9 Lives canned tuna, so life is good.
