Arrival Story: After Little Alfie died. I was devastated and was writing his diary one night, when for some unknown reason I decided to have a look on Gumtree.com to see if there were any kittens for sale. I spotted an ad that had 3 ginger boys and 2 tabby girls for sale. It had only been on the website for 3 hours, and I phoned straight away, but the nice lady, Charlotte, at the other end of the phone said that they all already had viewings arranged for the next day. She said the phone had not stopped ringing since the ad had been placed. I said “Oh well if it isn’t meant to be, it isn’t meant to be”.
I told her all about little Alfie and we chatted for about half hour. An hour later the phone rang and Charlotte phoned to say that there had been a cancellation and that she wondered if I would like to come for a viewing. I said yes immediately and arranged to meet Charlotte the next day at 11am.
I knew all the way over there that it was a mistake to go and look. I was still very raw and hurting. I wasn’t really sure if I was ready for another kitten just yet, but I couldn’t resist the urge to go and have a look. All the way there I kept telling myself I shouldn’t be going, but I was already in “no choice” mode.
There were 3 little ginger boys and I picked up one and put him down to have a look at the others. Then I picked up the 2nd ginger boy and when he looked into my face he just let out such a great big meow that I didn’t bother to look at the other one because in that one single moment this cute tiny furbaby had already stolen my heart.
I asked Charlotte if I could have two kittens but she said it was only fair that the people who had arranged viewings should see them first. If they didn’t want them then she would let me take two (as if that was gonna happen). She had already decided to keep one of the little tabby girls. What neither of us knew at the time is that my little ginger boy Buzz had made very best friends with Charlotte’s little tabby girl. Where he went she went and where she went he went. It was so cute. After some discussion Charlotte said she wanted to keep them together and asked if I would like to take the little tabby as she knew she would be going to a safe, loving home. I was over the moon to say the least.
That’s how Boo ended up with her furever home and her new humans.
Well I finally made it to Milton Keynes. My new human came to collect me from my first home. She took me and my Brother Buzz in a big carrier and said goodbye to everyone. Charlotte had a few tears, but was really pleased to see me and Buzz going to our new furever home.
Eighty miles we travelled, sometimes we slept and sometimes we started crawling up the side of the carrier so that Mum would sing to us. She couldn't talk to us because we wanted her to sing so we just cried until she did. She sang Somewhere Over the Rainbow in a very high pitched squeaky voice. She told our Dad that it was the only song that quietened us down and made us go to sleep. She said she sounded like a cats chorus and that's why we must have liked it. She said she had a sore throat but she would do anything to make our journey comfortable and stress free.
Mum and Dad made us feel right at home, feeding us lovely Felix kitten food and cat biscuits. Ooh and we got a lovely igloo to sleep in. Lifes good.
After a couple of days we met Dave and Ollie. They are big scary cats, but Dave is already starting to like us. When we walk past him he tries to clean our heads and he lets me play with his tail now. I tried to play with his tail yesterday, but he gave me the smackypaw. Mum said I deserved it and that I had to learn, but he was quite gentle really which is why I did it again today. Mum says Ollie is disgusted but he has been sniffing Buzz, so maybe he is gonna come round after all.
Mum asked Teddy McBearz to be my catfather. He is a proud as can be. He is such a lovely kitty and Mum says he will be a good influence on me. I am so proud that he is going to be my catfather.
It is almost my bedtime and I am getting a bit tired from all this composing.
