Arrival Story: In early 2011 we decided we were ready to get a cat. But had very specific ideas on what kind of cat we wanted. It needed to be female, black & white and long-haired. So after we decided on all that we put a post up on Craigslist stating exactly what we were looking for. It didn't take long before the replies started coming in. But one in particular sounded just like what we were looking for. Her previous owner called her Daisy Mae and was asking $75 for a re-homing fee. After several emails and stating we were looking for a free cat and wanted to save our money to go towards vet bills and food, she agreed to give her to us free of any fees because she just had a good feeling about us and knew we would be a good home for her. We wrestled around with names, since Daisy Mae wasn't to our liking and decided up Audrey Bella Gabrielle. After a few weeks we started suspecting that she was pregnant. So after emailing her previous owner we discovered that she was a registered Persian and that she could potentially be pregnant by a Persian or a Munchkin male. Audrey did end up pregnant and had one female kitten who turned out to be half Munchkin. Resulting in a Napoleon kitten. Napoleon cats are TICA register-able and TICA's board is now working on them being able to earn show points in the ring. We named the kitten Frodo. Frodo went to Audrey's previous owner in exchange for Audrey's registration papers, so we no longer have her. But I've created a page for Frodo just the same. We loved her very much. And she was one of the most adorable kittens I have ever seen. We hope to own a Napoleon cat in the very near future as well as Audrey.

Bio: Audrey has had one litter, so far, resulting in one female kitten. The sire was a Munchkin which resulted in a Napoleon kitten, whom we named Frodo. A separate page will be added for Frodo, even though we don't own her any longer. She is dearly missed.
Technically we're homeless at the moment. We have some friends letting us stay in one of their bedrooms, but it's very unofficial and they are moving to Hawaii because of the Navy next week. So we're trying to figure out where we are going from here. Audrey has been suprisingly great through all this bouncing around. She's adjusting to riding kennelled in the car pretty well (although she fusses sternly when the wind hits her luxurious fur) and is getting used to suddenly being in a strange (to her) house and doesn't go off and hide for hours any longer. So far we haven't had to spend a night in the car. Please pray that our financial situation gets better and we can finally get settled somewhere for good, or at least for a longer period of time than a couple of weeks. :)

Sadly, we had to re-home Audrey Bella a couple of months ago. I just haven't been able to talk about it for a while. I still miss her so much! We we homeless at the time, but staying in a friend's home "house-sitting". When we finally had the resources to find a place of our own everywhere we were finding available wouldn't allow pets. So, we started looking for a new home for her. :( But I'm glad to say that through Pet Shots of Jacksonville's (mobile vet service) Facebook page we found a very nice home for her where she will be loved. Every now and then I get an update about Audrey and they say she is still doing well.
