Arrival Story:
A coworker and I were talking and she mentioned that there was an orange kitty that had been hanging out at her house for most of the winter. She said her daughters were taking care of the kitty but it couldn't come inside because her husband is highly allergic to cats. I told her that I would love to have an orange kitty as they are always so loving and affectionate. She went home and asked her daughters what they thought about letting me take the kitty so it would have an indoor home with lots of siblings. The girls thought it was a good ideas so she brought me the kitty after the Super Bowl. They thought the kitty might be a girl and the oldest girl said her name was Tiger Lily or Timmy if it was a boy. When my husband and I took the kitty to the vet we found out he was a neutered male. Since all the kitties in the family have names that start with "M" we wanted to keep the tradition and decided to name him Molokai but wanted to also keep the name Timmy so we used Timmy as his middle name. My coworker's daughters have been given Molokai Timmy's Catster ID and the fur family has invited them to visit. We hope they will check in from time-to-time and we invite them to leave comments in his diary and on his pictures.

You Want Me To Go Where?

Mom wanted me to go to the vets of Friday so I could have what she said was an annual check-up and shots. No, that was not going to happen. Mom got out the carrier and prepared to try and get me in it.

I am still a little feral so when I don't want to do something I bite or try to. First attempt Mom put food in the carrier. I went half way in but would not go further so Mom tried to push me in. All 15 lbs. of me held my ground. My back paws locked onto the carrier door and I would not go in.

Second attempt, Mom picked me up by the scruff of the neck (so I could not bite her) and supported me under my belly (so I could not scratch her) and tried to put me in that carrier. I put all four paws out and held on for dear life. I won! Mom said it was getting to traumatic for me so she let me go. Mokka got to go to the vet instead. MOL

Mom here. Molokai seems to have recovered from this experience quite quickly. He doesn't know it yet but he is scheduled to go to the vet next Saturday. I now have a pill to feed him to help keep him calm and make the experience a little less traumatic for him.

Gotta run friends. I will let my little brother tell you how HIS trip to the vet went.

Meeting The Family

The past few weeks have been a little stressful. I'm now able to roam the house at will but I'm still getting use to all my new brothers and sisters. For the most part it is going well. I still have moments when I just want to be in my room by myself so Mom comes to visit me there. My little brother Mokka hangs out with me in my room sometimes.

My dog brothers still scare me a little. Sometimes they just get to excited to see me. Mom makes them stay downstairs so I can have "me" time when I go to my room. She says I will get used to everyone. It will just take time.

Last week and again last night I upset Mom by peeing on her brand new sofa. The first time I did this she tried to carry me downstairs to show me what I had done wrong. Mistake. I scratched and bit her. She has cleaned the sofa and today she ordered a plastic cover and a pet protective quilted sofa cover. Mom thinks the stress is causing this behavior as I go in the box most of the time.

I am trying really hard to be good but there are just so many new things to get used to. Mom says to take my time. It will all work out and I shouldn't stress over it. Everything will be fine. I am trying to listen to her but sometimes it is hard. I'm used to being outside on my own and now I'm inside with a whole new family to get used to. I'm sure she's right but I need my space.

It's been a long day going to my room to take a nap. Maybe Mokka will come nap with me.

Molokai Timmy

My New Home

Hi Friends,

It has been almost two weeks since I moved into my new home. I have been spending my time upstairs in a bedroom and bathroom. Mom and Dad come and visit me often. Mom says she is hoping I will be able to come out of my room by the end of this weekend.

The first night in my new home, I bit Mom. She said it was okay because I was a very scared kitty. Everything was so new to me since I had been living outside on my own. Now, I let Mom pet me and I just purr and purr. I have tried a couple of times to bit Mom but only in play. Mom just tells me "no" and keeps on playing with me. I have to say I don't really do much playing for a two year old kitty but Mom thinks that will change once I meet my new fur family and get adjusted to my new home.

Last night Mom let me meet my two dog brothers, Kaiser and Jaeger, and my two youngest cat siblings, Mokka and Maui. Mom says our first meeting went really well. The only one that hissed was Maui and just once when she first met me.

Mokka came into my room and started playing with the Yeowww Banana that Mom had tried to get me to play with. He was acting like I wasn't even there. Maui was really cautious when she was in the room but she walked around sniffing everything. The dogs were only allowed to sniff me and then Mom made them leave as they were getting really excited. Mom said they just want to play with me. I sniffed them back but I did not hiss or give them smacky paws. Mom said she was very proud of me.

Our meeting only lasted about 15 minutes and then Mom told everyone it was time for everyone to leave so I did not become overwhelmed by the introductions. She told me that I would get to meet more of my siblings tonight. Hmmm. You mean there is more. How many siblings do I have? Sounds like it is going to be an interesting weekend.

Got to run for now so I can play pawsies under the door with Mokka.

Loving Purrs,
Molokai Timmy
