Arrival Story:
Alfie was up for adoption at Reesie's Project Outreach, a shelter in Virginia (reesies.org). I found him via Petfinder and instantly fell in love. I filled out he application to adopt him, and a few weeks later, my sister and I made the trip to VA to meet little Alfie and take him home. Alfie is blind; he was born with no eyes. He is the sole-survivor of his litter- all of his litter mates were also born blind, but none of them made it.

Bio:
Alfie is quite a little hand full. He is incredibly energetic and loves to play and run around all day long. He is always very excited about everything and loves to be involved in whatever we are doing around the house. He likes to follow everybody around, with a genuine curiosity about the things we do. Alfie is also tremendously brave for being blind. He will climb and climb to any sort of high place, even if he has no idea how to get down (often he doesn't, in which case we come to his rescue). He doesn't fear loud noises or people he doesn't know. He faces every unknown thing with confidence. He gets into every nook and cranny of the house- he loves to discover things, especially things that make noise. It took him a little bit of time to learn the layout of the house, but now that he knows it, he never errs. Alfie is also super affectionate. He has one of the loudest purrs I've ever heard, and he loves to just plop in your lap to roll around and love you. You would never know that he is blind by how he acts; he is just like any other cat. We often forget that he is blind!
