Cuddling with Mama & his siblings.
Favorite Nap Spot:
On the back of Mama's couch.
Like so many of our furbabies, Wizard came to Mama thru the rescue she volunteers for. He was abandoned by his previous owner in a feral cat colony & rescued by a friend who feeds the colony. Wizard was discovered to have severe stomatitis, which made him unadoptable thru the rescue, so Mama said he could live with us!
Wizard is a big boy and loves to be petted. He has to get shots once a month to keep his stomatitis under control, and regular teeth cleaning, too. We're just happy to have Wizard in our family!

This will be a short diary. Wizard just joined Catster about a month ago. When he came to us he was a foster kitty. As time went on, he began to lose weight & became unadoptable (we hoped temporarily).
We worked for about 6 months, trying to get the weight back on Wizard. At first we thought it was his teeth - he had stomatitis - so each month he got a shot from the vet to help keep that under control. That didn't seem to be working so we did blood work - no negative results. We tried force-feeding & fluids. Wizard seemed to start to bounce back a bit.
Then, today we went for our regular monthly checkup and Wizard had lost almost a pound in one month & his temp was only 95 degrees. Doc said it was time to let our boy go to the Bridge. We did everything we could, but in the end all we could really do was love our Wizard enough to recognize that he was ready to go be an angel. We may never know exactly why he faded this way, but we were blessed to have him while we did!
God bless, sweet boy!
