Arrival Story:
We believe that Kit is the neighbor's cat. We live in a rural area so the neighbor is not "next door." The neighbor would walk by our house on their way to the little store with their 2 little dogs. Kit would follow behind. Late summer Kit started hanging out in the field across the street from our house. Every time Buddy would come out, Kit would come up to him and rub against him. Buddy had been abandoned with a cat, so he likes them. I had asked the younger woman at that house if they were missing their cat and she said she didn't think so. Eventually, Kit trusted us enough to come in and eat with Buddy. But she'd want to go out right after eating. She'd show up for breakfast, lunch and dinner, supplementing her meal of mice, etc. She had brought us both a mole and mouse; we saw her eat the mouse. At the vet she tested negative for the top 3 feline diseases. We had her vaccinated and also chipped. She is very street wise--she will not go near the road and runs when you start the car. We are glad to have Kit an official member of the family, even if she is going to be an outside cat. We have constructed a small hut for her, but if she would like, she is welcome to sleep in her crate in the house at night. Kit was becoming more a part of the family, so I made an appointment at the vet to have her checked out. And as of January 16, 2012, we now know she is female. But most importantly had already been spayed and is estimated to be about 1 1/2 years old.

Neighborhood "stray" who had been cared for enough to be spayed. "Adopted" our Beagle, Buddy.

Since I have "returned" home, I have been showing up on schedule for breakfast and dinner.

It has been very cold here in Western Pa and we've had snow. Mom and dad have kept me inside over night for the last several days. I just finished my breakfast a little bit ago and now I am ready to go out. I am patiently sitting near the door waiting for mom to let Max out.

Again, I want to thank all of Catster for the pawsitive thoughts and prayers for my safe return.

Dad wants to go to all the neighbors and ask if they know me. He thinks that I was spending those "lost" days at a neighbors. He figures if he finds out where I was he can get their phone number and keep in touch with them if I go "missing" again.

Well, Catster and friends, have a great day!

All your purrs and rosettes worked, Catster pals. Thank you so much for keeping in your thoughts. I returned home this morning about 10 minutes ago.

Dad opened the door to let Max out and I ran in! Mom and dad are very happy to see me. I healthy--no medical issues, so I was somewhere safe.

Mom is figuring that someone had me in their home for the last few days and let me out sometime over night or earlier this morning.

Both mom and dad are doing their happy dance that I am safe. Right now I am perched on top of the couch, which is one of my usual spots when I am in the house. Max is sitting below me.

I really appreciate all the rosettes and messages from you for my safe return.

Thank you Catster, for picking my diary as one of the featured diaries yesterday.

Meow for now.

I am missing!

I was last home on November 30th when I came in for dinner. Mom let me out before they went to bed--which is usual. Since it was a weekend, mom didn't notice that I wasn't around in the morning because she sleeps in even though I come home for breakfast as usual. She and dad kept calling for me in the evenings to come home for dinner. They drove around and looked and called for me in all my usual places.

Tonight mom and Max walked the perimeter of the yard and into the woods calling for me. The only animal they saw was a deer.

Mom filed a HomeAgain missing pet alert on me. She and dad are really sad that I am not home. They are hoping that someone opened their door and I am safe in a house somewhere. After all, I did come from somewhere that I was loved before I picked them as my family. Someone cared enough for me to spay me. Mom and dad had me chipped when I chose to live with them so that if I decided to go live with someone else (or return to my previous family) they'd know that I am up-to-date on all my vaccinations.

Send some PoP that I return home to mom and dad and Max.
