Hi ef'rybody! Me and my mom cat hafn't been on in a long time cuz my mom cat been very busy with purrsonal stuff. Mom and me follow catster all the time on mom's iphone though! Here's a purrfectly fantastic update for all my furry friends out there. My mom cat rescued a female dog named "Pasha" the end of July from someone that had found her abandoned. It furreaked me out a bit at furst cuz the dog kept trying to chase me! Now we get along and we even play! As it turned out Pasha was pregnant and mom didn't know it and she gave birth exactly one week ago today to one beautiful puppy! I remember hearing mom and dad talking about Pasha before they discovered she was pregnant. To their knowledge she hadn't connected with any boy dogs...at least that's what the guy that found her said. However, he had an unaltered male purebred pitbull. He said he kept them apart though cuz Pasha was in heat. Over time mom and dad noticed Pasha's teets getting bigger and she even started to lactate! Her tummy never got big though, she stayed skinny which was strange. Well, one week ago today Pasha woke mom up at 2:30am and mom thought she needed to go potty because she was whining a lot so she let her outside. When mom put her out all she did was sit on the porch whining and panting heavily. So mom let her back in the house and Pasha bee-lined for her kennel and laid down, still whining and panting. Mom was freaking out cuz she thought she was sick or something! Mom was watching Pasha and saw a grayish colored bubble coming out her rear end...mom freaked out and yelled to dad "Oh #@&$! honey, come here quick!" Mom was very confused and thought maybe she was experiencing a false pregnancy, but didn't know if a dog could have false labor. Mom and dad sat with Pasha keeping an eye on her as she contracted and strained a lot for over an hour. They didn't see anything come out and the bubble mom originally saw had disappeared. Mom started searching around for a 24 hour emergency vet so she could call and talk to someone about what was going on. While mom was on the phone with them I heard her yell "Oh #@&$! There's feet and a tail coming out!!!" The vet assured mom that was ok and that puppies were often delivered backwards. I watched everything...it was really gross! As Pasha was pushing out the puppy she got up and starting yelping in pain and came out of the kennel. Mom caughter her outside the door of the kennel. Pasha had delivered everything but the puppy's head, it was still inside her. Mom very carefully, without pulling on the puppy, pressed on the vulva around the puppy's head to make it pop out the rest of the way. Mom also had to hold Pasha still and pull the birth sac out the rest of the way. After she did this poor Pasha freaked out and ran off to my human sisters room and jumped on her bed. Mom had to break the sac off the puppy so it could breath and the little guy was immediately wiggling and making noise. Dad went down the hall to bring Pasha back out, she was dripping blood on the floor and everything...gross! They got her back in the kennel, and after mom tied off and cut the umbilical cord they put the baby with his momma. Momma helped the puppy find a teet so it could begin nursing immediately. Pasha was a little freaked out but very fascinated with her baby. She kinda gently nipped at him a couple times which freaked out mom and dad cuz the puppy yelped. By later that day she was being very good with her baby and letting him nurse without licking him so much that he gets knocked off her teet. He's so darn cute! He is exactly one week old today and every day he gets more active and noisier. He's learning how to bark and growl and makes cute noises all the time now. Mom will post some pictures of him on here for you guys to see!
Momma gots me a cat tree last week. She found this really pawesome cat tree on Craigslist fur only $20. She cleaned it up real good fur me and I luff it. When she first brought it in the house I din't like it, I smelled a strange kitty on it and I kept hissing at it. Mommas tried luring me onto it with some catnip but that din't work. Momma efen tried putting treats on it! I finally stopped hissing at my cat tree and I play on it all the time now! Momma added some new pics today, some of them show me on my cat tree. I luff my cat tree now and I luff momma fur taking shuch good care of me!
This last Sunday should've been a happy day. We had lots uff people over, momma made lots of good food. Ef'rybody was haffin' fun when the game first started. Unfortunately the fun and enjoyment was short lived. Me and my family live in the city of Graham in Washington State. This last Sunday was very sad day when it should've been a happy one. Josh Powell lived here in Graham. I'm sure ef'ryone knows his name. He's the guy that has been all over the news the last couple years. He was suspected of killing his wife who has been missing since 2009. Then this last Sunday, after he lost custody of his two boys last Wed (Feb 1st) to his wife's parents, he began court ordered supervised visits at his home in Graham, WA. Our afternoon Super Bowl party was interrupted by many sirens screaming down our street. We didn't know what was going on until we turned on the news. Josh Powell, only a mile or two from our house, had taken a hatchet to his two boys then blew up his house with him and his boys in it. To say the least, this has been a very sad week and i'm purrin' up a lot of purrayers for the Cox's (the grandparents). The only thing that brings us an ounce of comfort is knowing that not even in death can Josh Powell escape his personal torment and guilt for what he has done. Now he will anguish in it for eternity. The boys are now away from their sicko father and in their mother's loving arms.
I apologize for posting such a depressing diary entry but it had to be done. Ef'rybody please keep that poor family in your purrayers. Momma is gonna be taking my hooman brofur and sisfur to the boys school where there is a memorial and leaving them flowers.
