Arrival Story: Freya's early kitten hood is shrouded in mystery. She was discovered at one year old, after having been spayed, tattooed, and ear-tipped, running up and down a residential street near a rural area. She was screaming as she ran as if something was chasing her. A kind-hearted woman picked her up and brought her into her home. Although she was taken in as a catch-and-release feral cat by the Humane Society to be spayed, I think she was socialized at a young age.
The proximity to a farming community made me think that perhaps she was handled by children on a farm as a barn cat kitten. When she was old enough that the farmer had to feed her, I think she was dumped along the road (sadly, a common practice in the country) where she was later picked up by the Humane Society.
She's the mellowest, sweetest cat I've ever met. She's also a real stunner. I feel blessed to be her mother.
