Well we have been doing the cat quiz and overall we finished up in 5th place! We were very excited! Not much has gone on today. Farrah and I both have diaries now and we will be alternating each day so we can each get a turn to tell you all about our days! Oh Farrah and I are really good snuggle buddies now! We like to share one cat bad. We have a guest bed, mom and dad's bed, couches, and cat trees but we really like taking our naps in the little cat bed. We keep eachother so warm and we even give each other massages! However, at night we take over our mom and dads bed. We keep them warm and they keep us warm and they don't mind us moving around and Farrah and I groom each other right before we go to sleep. We watch tv too. Oh we got in trouble again with mom. We jumped over to the neighbors again to their sun room roof. The neighbors don't mind. The woman next door was all smiles to see us checking out their sun room. We looked right into their living room! However, mom thinks its dangerous since its been rainy and snowy so she doesn't want us to slip and fall. We're banned from the balcony for awhile since we wouldn't come back when she asked us too. Oh mom has two issues she wants to ask you all about. The first thing is I don't purr anymore. I used to purr all the time but since Farrah has gotten here I don't purr anymore. I get along great with Farrah now and I still sleep on their bed but when I let them pet me I never purr and I am much more standoffish than I used to be. Will I go back to how I was? Is this normal? She's worried I've permanently been hurt or changed. It makes her sad. The second is is Farrah kicks a huge amount of litter out of the box when she is burying her business! Like a huge amount. She has even kicked out our poo! Ewww! Any suggestions for making her stop. Dad gets very upset in the morning! Well were going to go take a nap! Luv Hazel B.

Kittehs never quit purring....You may to try and spend a bit more one-on-one with her while she's still adjusting..
I LOVE to kick my litter out of the box!! get a litter mat or consider covering up the box for less mess. BUT we here at Catster just lurv our poop...MOL!
Meow Hazel Basil! I agree with Henry. You love your new sister but having her in your home and sharing your mom and dad with her is a major adjustment for you. Your mommy should give you EXTRA extra-special attention and pets and love so you know you haven't been displaced and are still #1 in her heart! As for the litter . . . hmm. . . I'm not a big kicker and neither was Miss Mittens so I'm not sure what to advise. Do you and your sister share one litter box? Maybe more than one box would help. Or try boxes with higher sides and add a litter mat?
Thanks for all the advise. Mom said she is going to go out and try to find a cover for our litter boxes. We each have our own and they are completly seperated. Farrah just likes to kick the litter out. We are going to try to lower the litter level and see if that helps too. Mom always puts a lot of litter in the boxes because that is how I like it but maybe Farrah isnt used to all that litter. We'll see.
As far as not purring mom is going to try extra hard to make sure i get more one on one time. She spent an hour petting and brushing me. I was really calm the whole time. I usually don't let her brush me ever but i really enjoyed it. I've missed my mom since Farrah J. got here. I didn't puur yet but i did let out a little snoring sound when she scrated my sweet spots. So close enough I suppose! Thanks again everyone! Luv Hazel B.
Don't lose your purr, Valentine!
This is all still new for you and very stressful so hopefully with a little time & extra love from your Mom, you will be back to your old self. Sounds like your parents are very observant in watching you. I bet you look extra pretty all brushed like that. Zoey and I love to be brushed. It feels so good.
Somecats don't care for covered boxes but you can try that. Or else they have very high walled boxes too to help with kickers. Or bigger boxes. Our boxes are huge. Maybe Farrah is trying to kick all your business out of the box. MOL! I think some cats are more kickers than others. Suggestions like litter mats (we use LLBean door mats) or an extra box are good ideas too.
You 2 are very brave jumping over to the neighbors sunroom roof. I can imagine your neighbor thinking you girls are very cute. I bet that is fun but please be safe! Probably good to be banned for awhile. Don't want anything happening to you.
Get your purr on, Hazel B!
Oh sweetie I hope you get your purr back soon, mom and dad still love you and now you have a great sister too, life is good. it's ok.
I like balcony time too but I cannot go out un supervised because mom is afraid I will fall off because I like to sit way up high on the rail of the balcony.
Heh girlfriends! Has your Mom ever thought of getting you a pet stroller for the balcony? That way you could sit outside with her and enjoy the fresh air but your Mom wouldnt have to worry about you running off to the neighbors. Angel Rocky Ann was big on strolling and I know that would be her idea to you.
Hope you get your purr back soon! Maybe you need some more one-on-one lovin'.
