indoors Arrival Story: On the horrible day of the Twin Towers disaster I found Q at the local animal shelter. My mother actually wanted a small dog but they didn't have any so I looked at the cats. I literally held each one and petted them. Q's name at the shelter was Buffy and he had been featured in their quarterly periodical which is the photo directly to the left of this section. He is the most gentle cat and very eloquent. At the shelter he purred like there was no tomorrow while I held him. I put a hold on him because I needed to talk to my mother first. I went back and got him the next day. He was so cute with the freckles on his nose and he just has this oriental look to him. Hard to imagine how someone could move and just dump him at the shelter after having him for 5 1/2 years. Bio: Q was named after John Delancey who played Q in Star Trek The Next Generation. John Delancey is my favorite actor and Q wouldn't respond to Delancey but he did Q. Cuchulain of Muirthemne became the rest of his name because he just loves Mikhah, a Siberian Husky/German Shepherd mix. Cuchulain was a famous Irish super folk hero and means "little hound". As soon as Q met Mikhah he went directly to him and always jumps up to rub his head on Mikhah's chin. Mikhah doesn't like it however; he likes the cats but he doesn't want to be owned by one of them. LOL Q will sleep next to Mikhah but every time I try to get a picture one of them moves. Q was a "faker". He purred the loudest and longest when I held him at the shelter. After I got him home he wouldn't even let me hold him! He would let me pet him but no holding! I couldn't believe it. I think the previous owner must never have held him because I have never had a cat who didn't like to be held. It also may be he had never been around other cats and may have felt intimidated because he is submissive to the other cats. It took almost 3 years before he would come to me on his own to be held and petted. Now his sleeps on the top portion of my pillow when I go to bed. Unfortunately, even though I adopted him especially for my mother, he was terrified of the wheelchair like the other cats were. He would get on her bed and lay beside her if Dc hadn't claimed the spot first. He is very gentle and will come and get me and lead me to his food dish if he wants more or something else to eat. Sometimes he stalks Tearineye and if I look, he will pretend he isn't. What a guy! He is the only cat I have ever seen with the black freckles on his nose. He is a sweetie!
It is with great sadness when the vet discovered Q had bone cancer. He speant his last month home with quality time. When he was showing pain I had to make a decision to not let him suffer and on March 14, 2007 it was with great sadness that Q went to Rainbow Bridge where he will suffer no more pain and can run free until we meet again. Before we made the journey to the vet, Q wanted to go outside in the dog yard and smell the first smells of spring. Although he didn't stay out long, he did enjoy the spring smells and the birds singing and came back inside to nap. Goodbye for now and sweet dreams until I see you again. The Lord will watch over you. Bye my precious baby. Forums Motto: Can I go in the dog yard to play? The Groups I'm In: ^*^Over The Rainbow^*^ I've Been On Catster Since:
