Interrupting whatever mom might be doing.
Bathing, and tooth brushing.
Anything that mom happens to be working on. Keyboards, ipods (especially the earbud part), Textbooks.... you name it.
Favorite Nap Spot:
Under a blanket. Any blanket.
She mimicks the mighty cry of a Pterodactyl perfectly.
My roommate works as a Veterinarian at a local clinic. One day a woman brought in Stella, and reluctantly asked to have her euthanized. Being the caring and thorough Veterinarian that my roommate is inquired extensively as to the reason. When they got down to the bottom of it, the woman's boyfriend no longer wanted the cat around as she was old, smelled terrible, and they suspected was incontinent of urine.
After the story was out, my roommate decided that there was no reason why Stella should be euthanized as she was neither sick, nor suffering. She offered the client the opportunity to sign custody of Stella to the clinic so that we (I moonlight at this clinic part-time) might care for her and try to find her a home.
Immediately after the papers were signed, the Veterinarian sent me a text photo of her and I said "Woooah, what a Minger!" I didn't have a chance to meet Stella for several weeks after that, but once I held that hairless pterodactyl in my arms, and heard her purr like a walrus I knew that she was going to be my cat.
It has taken me over a month to convince my roommate to let me bring her home, and during that time I have found the most loving (if not extremely ugly) little cat that I could ever hope to ask for.
I am not going to take Minger (we still call her Stella, Stelladactyl, and Ming-Ming) home with me until after the holidays, because I want to run some tests on her. Part of the reason why I joined Catster is to find out more about the Devonshire Rex.
Minger stinks to high heaven and requires weekly baths due to what appears to be a chronic yeast problem covering her whole body. I have been bathing her in a special shampoo once a week, and I want to investigate all possibilities for the cause of this. She also needs a dental BADLY! Oiy no one took care of her teeth!
Stella is the darling of the clinic right now, and loooovvvveeeesssss to help everyone work. She has free run of the place (and after we cleared up her little UTI for the urinary incontinence) it is common to see her standing on a technician's back, butt-dialing patients from the clinic phone, standing in the middle of the receptionist's keyboard, under a blanket, or in someone's lap.
